There should have been a different winner last year. You hardly hear anything from Steve, the last time he released an album was months ago and it's nearly a year now since he won.
Last I herd he had been dropped from the label by Simon.
I noticed that once again the montages used after the performances were not from the live show but presumably the afternoon rehearsals - this week they just consisted of straight-on rostrum shots, no technocranes or anything - presumably so we can't see the empty auditorium. Or maybe the crane-ops weren't even there for some reason. I'm sure in previous series of shows of this type they've used clips from the live programme (with the possible exception of the last one).
They are from the actual show but they are just the front on camera which has been iso'd to tape.. it helps them edit the montage fast, no jump cuts or anything.
Oh ok, I'll take your word for it. I wonder if they use a different soundtrack too as I'm sure the audience were clapping along to at least one of them, and this was missing from the montage.
A slightly unfortunate result on Saturday I thought, Nicholas gave a much worse performance than Chenai (sp?) although to be fair I think generally he has been the stronger of the two.
Well it will be interesting to hear Chico do a ballad. Hopefully will be a good week for the Conway sisters too - in the ITV2 thing on Wednesday they were doing an excellent job of the harmonies in that song.
My least favourite 2 acts are now the 16-24s, maybe it's just my age! But with a song as dull as the one Nicholas is doing this week with a bit of luck we'll see the back of him. Having said that I'm quite an Andy fan and he's doing what is a dull song in my opinion too.
As for Shayne. Well, he's a p*ss poor Justin Timberlake. Seems that's how they're trying to portray him. Think he might go far simply because of who votes in these things - just like Anthony in Big Brother.
Oh well. I stand by my word.
Felt like I was watching 'Stars in their Eyes'. Good to see the winner is likely to offer the UK pop music scene something fresh and new(!)
