Back in the good old days (pre SMG) before Grampian was ripped apart and sailed down the river (Clyde) you may remember that Grampian was always well credited by the Scottish press for their fantastic Hogmanay shows!
How can anyone come on here and slag off a production that has not even aired yet??
Give it a chance...I for one am delighted it has come home to Grampian this year and it sickens me to read this Central belt 'Weegie' bias about "it won't be any good unless it comes from Glasgow by the way" tosh!!!
okay i know that i would rather watch a big show live from edinburgh castle or glasgow than from a small outcro in stonehavens party light festival thing....
And thankfully you're not in charge of Scheduling then.
Scotland exists outside of the central belt, and yet another show from Edinburgh Castle would be pretty boring.
And its not as if there's gonna be that many sober viewers anyway
tell that tom people in the central belt and the thousands worldwide who attend hogmany2005/6 in edinburgh

Hey im just going on what previous experience of the qualities of smg obs...so it probably doesnt matter where it comes form!I just do not feel andrea brymer and julyan sinclair - who if you live in stvland and dont have sky or like sport you do not know - are good faces for the show....mind you that was probably a glaswegian smg descision to aberdeen! it is good however to see grampian finally producing shows for the network again though

Well it won't be on the network....it will only be shown in Scotland!! As for the presenters.....Andrea came from STV to work at Grampian (hence her being chosen I would imagine) and Julyan has done several other shows in Scotland other than Scotsport! You could put up the same argument if I said I never watch Seven Days so who is Steven Jardine to someone who stays in Grampianland!!!???

Don't get me wrong, i'm sure they had a whale of a time.
But then, I had a great party round at my mates, but it didn't warrant an OB unit to film it.
I am sure Andrea will be her usual "fantastic" self.
Yet, I have to say another white elephant seems on the cards for SMG. However, if Jackie sings, there may well be a ratings record for the crew at Stonehaven!
Same listing on Sky.com's schedules for ITV1 Border Scottish - controversial.
As for the "It's not any good if it doesn't come from Glasgow" - that's not the case with me. The only thing for me is that, while the fireball nonsense is a good thing for a news programme, I can't see it being particularly exciting to see in the new year. I'm willing to be proved wrong.
Also, it is being broadcast on Scottish TV, so should be from the central belt.
Meanwhile in a desperate bid to get some viewers, they've started promoting a watch to win where you can win £2,006 - the winner being announced just before midnight tomorrow. They're going to have to promote it a bit more prominently than the ad break after the news though...
