Sky luckily had Ms Burley on air at the time, so didn't need to replace her. But they took the somewhat odd (considering he's touted as the new life in the station) step of removing Chris Rogers from air and putting Jeremy Thompson on instead.

Perhaps a good move, perhaps not.

CNN took the interesting step of replacing their two morning anchors. Although replacing that Vince (can't spell his last nice) guy off air wasn't surprising, replacing Carol Lin - the long standing Early Edition' anchor, and replacing them with Daryn Kagan and Leon Harris, the 'CNN Live This Morning' couple.

Odd, but I suppose that they'd already spent about 3 hours on air so couldn't be expected to construct (as well) wall-to-wall coverage. Although saying that, CNN spent most of its time switching between WABC and WNYW, their New York affiliates. Once they'd got themselves sorted out it seemed to be decently put together.

I noticed Jane Hill's little plug for News 24. But I think this is the time when News 24 helps the BBC out a lot, they can simply switch over to a service with full BBC branding - already providing a constant news source, and opt in and out when it suits them.

Interesting coverage in Guardian Unlimited, today. Presenters talking about their coverage.

I saw that. Jane Hill put her oar in and was listed as the News24 presenter when the news broke. She wasn't it was Valarie Sanderson and John Nicholson, who both did a grand job.

They did. But I think Jane announced the official line about being attacked by terrorists
