Tonight on C4 is a 95-minute programme "The Worlds Most Extreme TV" - with features such as the Japanese "Guess the Virgin" competition and a South American hidden prank show dubbed "Heart Attack" - as that is exactly what it does.
Probably be alot of stuff seen on programmes like Tarrant on TV - but should be worth a look.
And on that subject, the latest Dutch TV show "Shoot Up and Swallow" is set to see presenters try cocaine, inject heroin and engage in sex acts on live TV - all in the name of research of course!
Quite alot of new material actually - and notably almost all the categories had something from the oh-so moral USA!
I Want a Famous Face is just completly wrong (ugly people have plastic surgery to look like celebrities!), while I also hate all these plastic surgery makeover shows like The Swan.
The most notable thing was Be My Baby - in which a teenage mother had to choose one of five couples to give legal guardianship of her baby. As a reality show it's just wrong - and is actually a classic example of mis-branding a TV show under the "reality" tag, as had it been filmed as a documentary, it could have been a powerful piece of television.
Says alot about TV though as when the programme discusses things such as violent crime being screened at teatime in Russia, and Japanese porn channels in which men are duped into having sex with men, the question on my mind is surely it can't be right for a Blue Peter presenter (Konnie Huq) to be watching porn!

I can't bear the thought of all those 6-year-old children who have watched this
post-watershed
programme, and as a result now want to watch pornography - just like their favourite television presenter!

An obvious point (that I never even thought of!) - wouldn't surprise me if they got complaints though! Notice though Konnie didn't actually comment on the porn segment, but was shown watching the screen when they were discussing it!
And do I get paid by C4! Unfortunately not, but I'm open to offers!
They obviously haven't mentioned a show in the USA on FOX that got axed weeks after it first aired called "Who's your Daddy" (in 2003) it was about a 20-something year old lady who didn't know who her daddy was, and there were I think 7 contestants one was her real father the other ones were fakes and she had to guess who it was. Some FOX affiliates stations found it just plain wrong, and opted out to thier own output.

It says so much about the f'd up morals of American society that these programmes receive only a moderate level of complaints, yet the appearance of Janet Jackson's tit on TV causes a massive national outcry.
