Is someone from N24 watching this!? I just noticed the DOGs appearence on BBC ONE - minus the Clock.
I liked that generic blue BBC aston announcing CBBC on BBC TWO - but surely Neighbours should be on now?

6 o'clock news will not be shared with News 24, it can't simply because of the scheduling (regional news from 6.30-6.45).

BBC World have had separate programming (and some live interviews from Middle East as well I'm told).

8pm special programme will (presumably) be a joint BBC1/N24 operation.

Just looking at the schedule changes...

9:00pm BBC Choice News Special - replaces Happiness

Apart from the irony of that statement, should be *very* interesting - I assume Nicky and others are way too busy at the moment to tell us how that's going to work?

Newsround are sending Lizo Mzimba out to report on it tomorrow. This does not strike me as a good use of the BBC's resources.

Besides, I thought there weren't supposed to be any international flights going into the USA? Or is he going by hovercraft? (Wow, hovercraft across the Atlantic... cool!) Or hitching a lift with Superman?

Very bad situation this and from a television point of view i would like to say this:-

Everyone thinks of ITN as inferior to BBC but today ITN have proved that they are decent professional company and if anything have produced 'better' coverage than the BBC

The BBC showed the same coverage on BBC1 and News 24 whereas ITN produced FOUR different live feeds for ITV1, ITN News channel, Channel 5 and Channel 4

I feel ITN should retain their license for the ITV1 news supplier.

I would agree with that!

Well done to ITN

ITV News with Kirsty Young (doing a great job)
5 News with Charlie Stayt (okay doing well with what they've got)
Channel 4 News
ITN News Channel trying to keep up!

Both Sky News and BBC N24 are doing a fantastic job this is really pushing TV NEWS and they are doing a great job of coving what could be the start and I quote 'of world war 3'.

I agree the output from ITN both on ITV1 & 5 has been very good. Sky news has also very good.

However some of the stuff on BBC1/24 has been quite poorly produced.

The vast majority of Turkish channels are taking their graphics from BBC World and CNNi, DOGs and all...CNBC-e is opting between CNBC and ABC. TRT 1 and 2 are sharing a network feed. BBC Prime has yet to join BBC World, I doubt they will though.

BBC World hasn't joined News 24 at all, they didn't even broadcast Tony Blair's speech live. They did interview Ehud Barak though, Nik Gowing has been online since I turned on my TV at about 5 pm (3pm UK time). At the top of the hour the channel just starts all over again, with Nik Gowing saying 'This is BBC World, I'm Nik Gowing' then launching into the news report.

I agree with Asa though, this may be rather disturbing and distressing for casual viewers who find us discussing television coverage. To them, I deeply apologise and offer my heartfelt sympathies.

Yes I would imagine I speek for all forum members when I say we offer our deepest regrets and apologise if any offence is caused we also send out our most heartfelt sympathies.

You could be picky, but I have been watching BBC 1 and Five Live this afternoon, and thought they did a first class job. it was a hard thing to cover and they did it well. It must be hard to produce a program with so much constantly breaking news.

Well done BBC.
