We're all obviously devastated and shocked about what has happened and talking tv presentation may be deemed as insincere and inappropriate but this is a tv forum and therefore the topic will be left to run for as long as required in this forum.

I just wanted to express this view, as administrator, for any new visitors.


Sorry Asa. This is all just very shocking though. I don't mean to rehash this discussion, but who could do such a devastating thing? This is all very sad.

OK, this is the schedule for BBC ONE this evening, changed in the light of more breaking news:

1700 - BBC NEWS
1800 - BBC NEWS
1830 - Regionsl News
1845 - BBC NEWS
1900 - Normal scheduling

JUST IN: Sky News sending one extra person to New York and one extra to Jerusalem.
BTW: BEEB had Steven Evans (NY biz corresp) in the World Trade Centre at time

Presentation-wise, it hasn't struck me as particularly interesting so far. Anyone seen anythin* **usual about the coverage besides the fact there's been so much of it?

News 24 called in Gavin Esler (head of presenting team) to replace Peter Dobbie. When did this happen?

BBC are running a half-hour news special on BBC1 from 8pm-8.30

I think we can assume the 10 o'clock news will be extended as well..

Gavin has come in in the last hour .. He really is the face of N24 - he's used for everything.
I'm surprised the BBC aren't running the BBC NEWS 24 DOGs on BBC ONE - good publicity

Purple Special Event themes perhaps? What will the Six do in 45 mins? Run from N8 or will Huw or someone be in N6?

I'm at home, what happened to Chris Rogers this afternoon with Kay Burley was he bumped like Peter Dobbie was for Gavin Esler for JT?

This is really terrible. Well done though to BBC NEWS, SKY NEWS, ITN/ITV C5 and other news channels who, as they should, have stuck with this dramatic breaking news headline.

Does anyone at the BBC know which studio the BBC News at Six will be broadcast from - ie N6 or N8 .. and also whether it will run at all, with the BBC News Special continuing. Will it be the same on N24?
What is BBC World up to? Why aren't they running parallel with N24? I saw them behind Gavin's head in the monitor with the Breaking News Aston.
