I was'nt going to reply to this thread, as i thought it inapproapriate. But I have to share my shock and dismay at this event with everybody else. Watching sky news yestaday whilst filling doing everyday paper work, my attention was drawn to that now Hellish sound of the sky news breaking news vamp. We all thought it would be a small light aircraft that had collided. But this clearly was not so, when they cut to the gaping hole in the side of one of the towers. A monumental error on behalf of the pilot was assumed..... Then the most shocking pictures ever to be transmmitted on world television, showed a passenger jet plow into the second building. With my heart racing from just watching the coverage on T.V. The events that happened after this Beggared Belief, and well you know the rest....
Interestiningly, pictures on the crash scene from the pittsburg incident were clearly with held, from networks, and now there are reports that this plane was shot down, and indeed there were a further 4 passenger jets alledgedlly shot down. God forbid there destinations. Our hearts go out to the thousands of americans who have lost friends and family in this incident.

A nice diagram of the incident.

Also production has been temporaraliy stopped due to these attacks at Paramount Studios (there are probably more companies), this includes filming on the new Star Trek series, Enterprise.

It is great to see up-to date information on ITV, BBC and Sky News on this heart breaking event.

BTW: who else thinks this thread could be the largest in TV Home/Forum history.

To anyone who was worried, we found out my cousin was definatly in LA at the time and so is OK.

Anyhow, In my opinion the worst pictures are the ones with the little doll, mind you, as my dad pointed out you ALWAYS get that in disasters, and taking into account the size of the place there was proably a girl needing an operation being comforted by a singing nun aswell.

Also the disturbing pictures from a documentary being filmed on the fire service, (the one where the man screams 'HOLY SH*T') show how unexpected it was.

In My Opinion this shows the size of the news resources in this day and age.

Deepest sympaties to everyone involved
