This is a impression of the caption which was used after Part 1 of Crossroads at 2.15pm today
I'm not sure if the 'hearts' were present though, but it was definally squashed in this way

You got the dimensions right but one problem:No heart back ground, just black. You could EASILY make a mockup of this couldn't you?

This has been a truly horrific today. I have watched all the coverage since it broke at 2pm today and watched in utter horror. At times like this presentation doesn't really matter - but we all know that.

All news coverage has been brilliant in my opinion on what must be a deeply disturbing day with correspondents undoubtedly caught up in the problems.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 will be a date that will be remembered for ever in world history.

Hi everyone…

Well first I'd like to say just how shocked and saddened I am at this horrible news -- it's just so unbelievable…

Just heard from MSNBC that Air Force One has landed in Omaha Nebraska (go figure)

Anyway, the channels here are blanketed with new coverage.   I know that CNN Centre was evacuated, so they're kind of doing a 'barebone' broadcast, but it's fine.  CNN is on ALL AOL Time Warner network (including all CNN networks, TBS, TNT etc)

As for BBC World, when I got home from school, BBC America was taking World's coverage with Nik Gowing………

Alek, as your neighbor to the north, I would like to send my deepest regards to your nation and to your city. I don't think anyone could ever think of this happening ANYWHERE. I hope that the people who are responsible are caught and severely punished for what they've done.

The people of Canada (the Prime Minister said this) sends their regards as well.

This is something that you don't see everyday -- all the congresspeople of the US are singing 'God Bless America' --- there are not good thnigs on the horizon…

In response to your comment EDTV, I just wanted to say thank you - the people of America greatly need the support of it's neighbours and friends today…

I'd just like to briefly say that my thoughts go out to all people affected by this terrible incident, which gave some of the most harrowing scenes which I have ever seen on TV.

I would like to congratulate ITV1 for their fantastic coverage, I was informed almost immediately of the news when I switched on the television at 5.30 this evening as ITV News managed to continually tell new viewers of the news without making it tedious for continual viewers. Kirsty was fantastic, was she alone until 6pm when Sir Trevor magically appeared out of nowhere? I'm surprised that Dermot wasn't deemed worthy enough to present.

Just watching ITV News now at 12.40am, and it has just been said that they will be on air all night. Certainly a lot more effort than BBC One, who should have at least have gone to the BBC One News studio throughout the evening. ITN have proved themselves more than worthy of the ITV News contract.

Incidentally, what happened on the ITN News Channel? I'd imagine that it would have been Leyla Daybelge presenting, was she joined by another presenter like during the fuel protests when she presented with Steve Scott, or was she solo?

Just thought I'd mention something weird on TV here -- it could just be my satellite, but the New York CBS and Fox stations aren't broadcasting right now - or at least all I'm getting is a black screen.

One thing that I've noted through the whole of the coverage, though, is how much visual information has been obliterated by having multiple stations' graphics superimposed on each other. CNN's huge banners seem to take up nearly all the lower third of the screen. It's ridiculous.

That's why they call it the 'lower-third' graphic.

Anyway it's been really busy on this side of the Atlantic. Stations that don't usually have news now carry feeds from the national networks. From what I heard, some cable stations in the States cancelled all scheduled programming in respect for all the victims. I also heard that some local New York TV stations were off the air because their transmitters were atop the WTC, which sadly doesn't exist anymore.

(BTW: Alek, that's weird. Although CBS2's transmitter was among once of those that sat atop WTC, they had a backup transmitter on the Empire State Building.)

Here's what the networks are calling their coverage:
CNN: 'America Under Attack'
CBS: 'Attack on America'
Fox News: 'Terrorism in America'

And as many of you already did, I want to offer my condolences to people who lost loved ones, and I condemn those who committed these senseless and horrible acts.

Pictures just in on N24 of the Soloman Building, the 47-storey building adjacent to the WTC, collapsing earlier.

PS - does anyone else think the the images of the towers imploding and collapsing are similar to the scenes of the Empire State Building being blown up in 'Independance Day'?

This NEVER happens, but the WB stations have cancelled all of their programming and are just featuring their respective news programmes. The WB11 (New York) station of course had their news coverage, but a WB station from Denver that I get on my satellite is having blanket news coverage. MTV, btw, is still featuring CBS - they'll probably take the prez's address too - I've never seen that happen either.

So have ktla 5 in LA and WGN Chicago. BTW It was amazing how even CNN had to take footages from a station like WB11.

Night falls in New York City, and it's still smoking in Manhattan. (according to WB11, which I also happen to get.)

Sky's EPG is currently showing two schedules for BBC1. On the search-&-scan banner, it shows BBC News up until 12.00noon. However, on their 7 day schedule, it states that Kilroy will continue as scheduled at 9.00am
