First of all, people saying earlier on in this thread that this could be the start of WW3, should shut up. All you are doing is worrying people needlessly.

Anyway, I think any further speculation about what military action going to happen would be inappropriate now, as at this time we should be thinking about the victims and their families, while respectfully commenting on the television presentation.

Back on the subject, did anyone see the extended 60 seconds at 7pm on BBC Choice, it ran for approximately two minutes, and Christopher Price introduced Liquid News with, 'Welcome to Liquid News on a difficult day for all of us, but now the top entertainment stories. The next 60 seconds will be at 8.15pm.

Did Carlton viewers see the ITV1 Hearts Menu at 7pm?
I find something quite tasteless about news programmes being given a sub title on events like this. It just smacks so ever so slightly of down-market ratings grabbing. It should just be 'The ITV News' nothing more - nothing less.

I doubt ITN had much say about this although they didn't use it in the titles of the programme. BBC Two Wales just interrupted their rugby coverage for N24 on BBC 2 - Damn right too

The only adverts that have been seen since 2pm was in the middle of Emmerdale, they might as well have dropped these too.

Emmerdale was at 7.03pm

7.30pm - ITV News Special (Magic Moments is dropped)
8.00pm - WWTBAM?
9.00pm - ITV News (The Bill is dropped)
10.30pm - Regional News (was 11.20pm)
10.40pm - The Big Match (was 10.20pm)

Trailers have been limited too, with none at all on ITV1 or BBC1 until 7.15/7.30pm respectively

Unless I missed, don't think it's been mentioned (the new version).

Now News 24 runs on BBC Two through until 8:30.

Changing Rooms on One at 8, then news (America under siege) at 8:30. Why, whenever there's a major programme, does David Dimbleby have to host it? He's a general BBC bloke, not BBC News. Huw should host it, or one of the other news folk, I don't like Dimbleby. On Question Time when people in the audience get too clever for him he just resorts to insulting them! Whoops, I appear to have digressed somewhat .
Anyway, the EPG doesn't specify when that special at 8:30 ends.

Also, who's been presenting on BBC World? Hanarahan has spent a while on News 24, when he's normally glued to World!

The last ad break was around 14:00 on itv1 and there havent been anymore commercial breaks or promotions since.

Inevitably Emmerdale was already sponsored by Daz and as it was already edited into two parts it was only natural to leave the break in. ITV have excelled themselves by not making any money out of this situation and its been quite refreshing watching a commercial station putting feelings before greed.

Ps That generic ITV1 rundown menu at 19:00 was pants - whoever did the voice over needs to go back to school and get a back job!

Yep I agree with you entirely about Dimbleby, he really is rubbish. As Jeremy Paxman once said, every major event *must* be presented by a Dimbleby, and probably always will.

However even Dimbleby isn't as bad as David Frost - I really enjoyed Peter Sissons presenting BWF on Sundays over the summer, the interviews were far better, and Frost overdoes every cue and lead-in so much he makes himself sound ridiculous, along with his stupid 'thank you very much indeed, a great pleasure to have you with us' for people its obvious he couldn't care less about.

There, said it now..

It was one of them VISIT THE CROSSROADS WEBSITE AT W W W ..... Carlton 'Booming Voices'

They are rolled out at various points, when really I think the normal local announcers would have been capable to read the menu (Especially as YTV's old fave Maggie is on tonight)

Hi everyone…

Well first I'd like to say just how shocked and saddened I am at this horrible news -- it's just so unbelievable…

Just heard from MSNBC that Air Force One has landed in Omaha Nebraska (go figure)

Anyway, the channels here are blanketed with new coverage. I know that CNN Centre was evacuated, so they're kind of doing a 'barebone' broadcast, but it's fine. CNN is on ALL AOL Time Warner network (including all CNN networks, TBS, TNT etc)

As for BBC World, when I got home from school, BBC America was taking World's coverage with Nik Gowing………

Have a look at Media Guardian if you haven't already, some nice background info on the coverage.
