I am just completely utterly shocked. My thoughts and feelings are with all those relatives of the casualties. I am deeply impressed by the professionalism of both the BBC and ITV who are covering this terrible, tragic event.
What is chilling about this is, is that in many parts of the Arab world, there are people influencing tiny childrens' minds, some of whom are not yet secondary school age that suicide bombing and killing people this way is deemed a noble act of martyrdom. It simply isn't. Such people pour ice into the deepest recesses of my mind and soul.
On a more personal note, I find myself once again impressed by the professionalism of Christa Ackroyd on Look North. She carried the 5-minute bulletin perfectly. I would not have been able to act so 'together' as she did tonight, and I'm in awe of anyone who can. If I had any doubts about the woman, they are firmly eradicated today.
I can't think of any more to say at the moment, I need more time to get to grips with this event.

Can another thread be made in 'The Lounge' for that, because this is officially the TV Presentation forum.
No I think this is too important to be demoted to The Lounge, because this
is
important for America and us as a nation.
No, this thread is fine here. Just leave it as it is.
I will have a screengrab of Huw in N8 shortly.

Dont bother starting a new thread or closing this one, as it will confuse people. I think we should keep this thread going so everyone knows where everything is.
News 24: All the usual filler programmes have been called (business, sport etc.) and its just 'News' right through until breakfast.
The '60 Seconds Special' is on BBC Choice from 9 to 9.30
Channel 4: Extra news programme from 9pm to 10pm

Is it just me or does N8 seem to clash with Huw! He just doesn't seem right in that studio!
Is EastEnders still set to go at 7.30? Will it be demoted to BBC TWO?
Poor old Peter Dobbie! At 5pm he's told to sod off as he's not good enough for breaking news (or something like that). Jane Hill has had three copresenters today - Dobbie, Esler and now Huw Edwards!
Must say how well the Sky EPG has been updated by the BBC - al the channels carry the very latest scheduling details. Wonder when they'll do the Jane Hill/Carrie Gracie presenter shift?
Remember, this is the TV forum - it goes without saying that we all feel deeply for the folks in the US, but lets almost put the events to the back of our minds, and concentrate on the coverage
.
Huw has just (7:13) said a little reminder: 'let me explain to viewers on BBC One that you're watching a BBC News special from BBC News 24' - and I'm sure he shuddered a little when he said the 'News 24' bit, and it was all said as if 'in case you're wonderfing what
I'm
doing in this second rate stuido'!
I do like read on this forums for tv presentation but in this case i dont think it is very important. So if you want to say anything try and stick with what is happening (news wise), and what your thoughts about the situation.
Alexander, as explained previously, talking about television presentation, the latest news and your opinions is perfectly acceptable in this thread. I'm sure everyone is devastated with this, regardless of whether they've said that in their posts or not, but television presentation posts will continue.

I'm sorry Katherine, I have to disagree with what you said in the middle section about in some parts of the Arab world people are contaminating the childrens minds, because the major terrorist groups actually
condone
the bombing of civillian targets.
