I've just noticed Martine using the words 'this morning'. I would have thought that since it was on BBC World, due to the different time scales, this wasn't allowed!
I wonder is she got a slap for it? But she did do very well for the first show!!!
no she said that when she handed over to Heather didn't she? World opt out during the sting, so News 24 and One only see Martine after the sting at about 0512.

You know I kind of find it strange just to have the World Today on just once a day. They should do what they do with their feature programing. Put it on in prime time in evry majour region in the world..
I didn't see the programme so can't comment on the mistakes they apparently made, but what you have to appreciate is that it is a new programme and no matter how much preparation you put into it there are always going to be minor hitches; whilst the presenters and the team behind-the-scenes get used to the way it works.
If you saw the launch of the generic look on BBC One News back in 1999, you'd remember than the presenters looked as stiff as boards - Anna Ford especially.
I can't see what's wrong with the presentation of it, the look of the programme appears to integrate will into the other main bulletins - whilst the slightly different style of presentation gives it a 'special' appearence, as with most flagship bulletins.
But it's the content of the programme that really matters, that seems to have been overlooked whilst you were all too busy looking at the presentation, (yes, I will be reminded that this is a presentation forum).
It's an achievement in itself for a 24 hour news channel, which World appears to be evolving into, to be able to create a dedicated flagship bulletin - CNN have only recently launched a dedicated appointment to view bulletin, Sky launched News at Ten in 1999 - but it's an even bigger acheivement to do it well.
Also, TWT isn't really a programme to start the day, not if you live in Asia it's not. The BBC have to be very careful not to make it appear to be a 'morning' programme for the UK, there's still got to be a heavy global slant.
But, like I said, until I've actually seen the programme I really can't make judgements on its content, nor delivery.
I'm now watching WBR, and where Tanya is sitting, you can see Martine sorting her hair and putting on her makeup on the reflection from the screen which says 'World Business Report'.
