It's interesting that the BBC have brought the most radical (at the BBC anyway) editor in Mark Popescu into head the Ten O'Clock bulletin. With his ambitions to improve the bulletin and perhaps move away from the staid perceptive (behind the desk) and move into a new setting and studio...

But I don't see they could work with Buerk and Sissons - maybe he's planning major changes for when the presenting team eventually changes?

What I want to know is why on the BBC Whatson Website and the BBC World Schedule page is the 0500 bulletin still called BBC News, and not The World Today? The BBC World page has World Business Report scheduled for 0530, but still has BBC News at 0500. News 24 just has BBC News for thw whole hour!

It is being branded BBC News on BBC World.
The World Today is for BBC One/News 24 viewers. Check your Radio Times and you will see it's down as The World Today!

I was going to say that but knew I'd be overcome by BBC employees at TV Centre complaining about my attitude, towards the BBC.

Keep 'em comin' lads!

Sorry to be stupid, but I've been away for 2 weeks. So what's going on exactly?

This is what I think you guys said... The World Today is relaunching on N24 and BBC One on Monday with World Business Report at 5:30am - and they seemed to do some kind of pilot recently.

Am I right?

If so, might have to get up early that morning!

Yep, the programme called The World Today will go out on BBC ONE/NEWS 24 and BBC WORLD AT 5am. At 5.30am there will be a World Business Report, presented by Tanya Beckett. The World Today is going to be presented by Martine Dennis (Mon-Thurs) and Lindsey Brancher (Fri). It has a good theme - variation/remix of BBC World News.
Just as I speak at 0530, a trailer is on BBC News 24 about the new programme - looks good!!

So it's just Mon-Fri then? Oh well, guess I'll be getting up very early on Monday morning Wink
