Yes, they were piloting yesterday and today. I was sent the photos by a mate, and I sent them to James to upload.

So I take it that it won't be on at weekends then? I look forward to seeing Martine Dennis and Lindsay Brancher on BBC ONE and News 24. So will the news in the breaks definately be called UK Today, read by overnight presenters?

This is brilliant.
Well I must say i'm impressed. Looking at those pics I see that they are going to use a new strip aston down the screen, interesting.  Your right you know tanya does look awful in those screengrabs let's hope she looks better when the whole thing starts on monday!

By the way when did they do those Pilots? What time and were did World News go, or was this done on Sunday?.

If Martine Dennis and Lindsay Brancher will host the show for three hours starting 5 am UK time, what happens afterwards? Do they bring in another presenter or does either Martine or Lindsay carry on as usual at 8am?

I'm really torn between two channels though now...on Sept 3rd, shall I tape BBC World or Sky News? Someone tell me!

Btw, I've got a copy of the promo BBC World are showing to promote the World Today...I'll capture it off of the video tape if anyone is interested...

No, no The World Today is only 1 hour long. 5am until 6am. Then all chanels go their normal way. So Martine will just be working an extra hour.

By the way guys, Today I say the full length promo on World advertising the 'New Enhanced Service' starting on Monday. It mentions new editions of WBR and Sport Today and most importantly tells us that there are going to be THREE hours of the program in the morning.

What do you think?

So shall I record BBC World or Sky News on the morning of Sept 3rd? Which one is more significant?

Well as they're both relaunching at different times you could tape both.
Sky News relaunches at 6am UK time and BBC World should change over when TWT starts at 5am British time.
At least that's what little I've gathered from this thread.

Martin, he'd want Sky News because they're relaunching. Where was the all-mighty BBC when the Hamiltons had their case dropped? Wasn't very good from what I saw of it. Sky News, on the other hand, was very good.
So there.

I'd say Sky's is more significant because it's a totally new look and we don't know what to expect. On the other hand, we already know what to expect from World.

I'm not sure whats going on with BBC WORLD but the way I see it is there is TWT at 5am and WBR at 5.30am.

I don't think the news at 6 or 7am will be any different than normal, although I could be wrong.

This will mean that World Business Report will be on at 0530, 0630, 0730, 1330, 1715, 1830, 2130 and 2330 & Sport Today will be on at 0745, 1345 & 1845.

So you'll never be stuck for the latest in depth Sports or Business news now on BBC WORLD. Smile

They'll be doing real time pilots so it would be in the World studio at 0500 ... normal World programmes are joint with News 24/BBC One at that time.
