Coming very soon (when I have uploaded them) are some pictures of The World Today starting on the 3rd September. So check back to this thread very soon.

But, as a taster here is the schedule for the new programme:

The strange thing is, is that it launches on Monday, yet BBC Whatson listings still show BBC News with Heather McCarthy! Surely they know that its starting!

So, let me get this right.

BBC World joins BBC News 24 late at night. Then BBC One joins in. This is called 'BBC News' on all three channels. Is there a DOG? I've never watched it at that time before you see.

Then, at 5am, there will be sort of opt out - this being 'The World Today' on all three platforms from 5am to 6am.

Then, at 6am BBC World goes off to its programming and BBC One and BBC News 24 join together for a simulcast of 'Breakfast' until 9am when BBC One shows its daytime schdule and BBC News 24 does the news.

Am I right? I'm confusing myself thinking about it.

I would be nice to see Julia Cesar, I think she is going to be one of the other presenters / reporters on this programme. The Gaurdian and Broadcast have tipped her as a rising star and one to watch.

I'm so annoyed that UK viewers don't get the advert filler! I mean why not? Surely just for one hour they could let us see it!

Yes, you have the gist of it. Overnight, BBC News goes out on all three platforms, on BBC World with their DOG, and N24 and ONE have the N24 DOG. Instead of the 0500 bulletin, they will have The World Today!

I think, but I may be wrong, there was a pilot of TWT... today.
Ison probably got one of his friends at El Beeb to get some captures.

Martine does Monday-Thursday and it's Lyndsay on Fridays.
The UK News is done by whoever is presenting overnight - Heather or Martine C.
