You can sort of see the presenter's leg(not that's the first thing I look at of course!) through the desk anyway!

You're missing my point people!
With a huge chunk removed from the centre of the World desk, whoever sits in the middle & wearing a skirt has the potential of doing a Sharon Stone impression!

The TWT theme is great because we only get to hear it occassionally (daily) - but don't you think that it's the sort of theme you'd get fed up of if you heard it every hour? Something a little more bland, (i.e. the current World theme) is less likely to breed contempt when familiarity sets in. (IMO)

I don't think it's bland, I think it's quite good, but I have got another question, will the TWT opening sequence be done for all BBC World bulletins?
