I discussed the Marc situation with 2 of my female colleagues at work and they both think he is a thug who doesnt deserve to go through to the final 10. I have to say although I voted from him I *probabably* would not have done if I had known, im all for second changes but why should I choose him over someone else who can sing equally as well if that is the sort of person he is.

I dont think he will go very far in the final 10.

Yes, but at least its come out now and not after people have voted. I can see the press giving him a right hard time, and he won't get very far in the final 10.

I wonder how this bonus round will work, will it be all 3rd and 4th place singing again, or will it be more complicated than that, anyone any thoughts?

Well Ant & Dec are still referring to contestants getting through to the final 10, so I guess the final 12 thing hasn't officially been confirmed, although most people seem to be talking about it.

According to The Sun, 8 contestants are to be called back, the public will vote for one to go through, with the judges choosing another. I don't know where they get 8 from, seems a bit of a random figure.

They seem to talk about it on Pop Idol Extra though.

That's the result show, the main show itself usually get's higher figures than that.

Well I generally go by the Media Guardian's ratings, though as they have continued their usual comprehensive coverage of the weekend's ratings, I've just guessed it'll be something like 6.6m. It was around that last week wasn't it?

The Wild Card week is where the judges can choose any 8 from the 40 contestants who didn't get through to the final line-up.
Re: That Marc guy...Whatever he's done it's in the past and he's obviously very sorry for *whatever* he did. As far as I've heard he hasn't actually done anything anyway, he was part of a gang and they were the ones who did whatever they're supposed to have done. Why can't the papers leave anyone alone? They're the ones that have blown this whole story out of proportion.

You don't get put into prison for 6 months for doing nothing. He played a part in it, for which he has spoken about and apologised in public. Let's see where he goes from here.

Oh and if there are 12 weeks to go as the topic title now suggests, that would mean the last show airing on 20th December. So, I take it there will be no Pop Idol Christmas No.1 attempt this year ?

13th Dec - 5 contestants reduced to 4
20th Dec - 4 contestants reduced to 3

??? I'm confused now!
