this may have been mentioned , but apologies if it has already... but Why are ITV showing Emmerdale at 10pm each night. Can't they show it at 6.30pm, or 7pm... why so late... and does anyone know if they will put it back to the correct slot while the world cup is on. They have mucked about with Corrie, a little, give and take the odd 30 mins, eg instead of 7.30pm , it's on at 7pm... so why slap Emmerdale at 10pm weeknights?

It has been mentioned many times

Because 10pm every weeknight is easier to remember than 7pm, 7.30pm, 8pm, 6.30pm, no episode, 7pm... etc

The amount of uproar it has caused you can be safe in the knowledge that ITV will show Emmerdale at 7pm every night and never move it ever again!!

It has been one of the stupidest scheduling moves of all time - in the last fortnight Emmerdale really only needed to be moved from it's 7pm slot on two or three occassions.

Exactly - and it wouldnt have killed them to miss 2-3 episodes a week considering its on 6 times a week for most of the year Rolling Eyes

Isn't that down to a bit of constitency so as not to confuse viewers?

Surely they can now move the newshour back to 6pm, with kick off now with no matches actually being played during the 6pm hour. They can then move Emmerdale back to 7pm.

It seems to me that ITV are experimenting with the schedule using the World Cup as a smokescreen. As has been mentioned, none of the games now clash.

Even the week after next, the regional news is at 6.25 and the national at 7pm. CITV returns for an hour though, 3-4 daily. They seem keen on the 7pm idea for the news, I expect they'd like bulletins at 7pm and 11pm.

To be honest i wouldnt mind the ITV News on at & 7.00pm every weeknight as im sick of Emmerdale always being on.

I see it like those mock schedules that people post here where they move programmes to different times

This is ITV's own mock schedule, and the results of it is that, whereas people often say ITV's schedule is a bit stale and needs a shake up, they also don't like any sort of change whatsoever

People are forgetting extra time and penalties - any game which kicks off at 4 would runt to about 6.45 if it went to penalties.

The thing is though viewers are consistantly not watching Emmerdale!

Congratulations, you've kicked the habit. Keep up the therapy sessions and you could be free of all soaps!
