The situation with Emmerdale and the news (and CITV) is ridiculous really.
Monday to Wednesday next week there only needs to be minor changes really.
Emmerdale could show double bills on Monday and Tuesday and be screened on Wednesday too.
Something like
Mon:
7pm Emmerdale
8pm Tonight
8.30pm Corrie
9.30pm For One Night Only - ITV producers attempt to con the nation they make Faking It!
Tue:
7pm Emmerdale
8pm Corrie
8.30pm Midsomer Murders
Wed:
7pm News
7.30pm Corrie
8.00pm Emmerdale
8.30pm The Bill etc.

Talking about not dropping the soaps during the WC. I see that the BBC can't even run to dropping Holby City and are showing 2 episodes this week to catch up before they are behind

Tommorow's schedule on ITV1 is a good one
From 12.30pm to 12.30am, the only programmes are World Cup 06, News and an episode of Emmerdale!
Expect quite a large audience share for ITV1 tommorow. I bet the presenters of BBC Regional News will be annoyed having to miss the match!

I'm sure Tv Mercia will correct me if I'm wrong, but BBC Birmingham are offering a WC free zone tomorrow with the MT people, but Franksy from WM is in the public space at the Mailbox, having a Caribean setting, with someone watching a screen & updating the scores during the WM drivetime show, but I may have misunderstood the plugs !

On Thursday 15th June it isnt, Radio Times website has it scheduled between 4.00pm-4.15pm. Thats because ITV1 are showing 3 matches that day, which means from 12.30pm until midnight they are showing almost nothing except news and football!

BBC & ITV announce 2nd Round Games
ITV and BBC have agreed the division of the 2006 FIFA World Cup second round games, to be played from Saturday 24 June to Tuesday 27 June.
BBC1 take 1st pick with ITV1 getting 2nd and 3rd picks.
The division of games is as follows:
Saturday 24 June Germany v Sweden 1600 BBC
Saturday 24 June Argentina v Mexico 2000 BBC
Sunday 25 June England v Ecuador 1600 BBC
Sunday 25 June Portugal v Holland 2000 ITV
Monday 26 June Italy v Runner-up (F) 1600 ITV
Monday 26 June Winner (G) v Runner-up (H) 2000 BBC
Tuesday 27 June Winner (F) v Ghana 1600 ITV
Tuesday 27 June Winner (H) v Runner-up (G) 2000 ITV
As far as scheduling is concerned, this means that neither schedule published for ITV1 in the Radio Times will apply on Saturday unless they are going to show 2 hours of You've Been Framed!
The England game is obviously on BBC1, meaning the F1 is on ITV1 not ITV2

this may have been mentioned , but apologies if it has already... but Why are ITV showing Emmerdale at 10pm each night. Can't they show it at 6.30pm, or 7pm... why so late... and does anyone know if they will put it back to the correct slot while the world cup is on. They have mucked about with Corrie, a little, give and take the odd 30 mins, eg instead of 7.30pm , it's on at 7pm... so why slap Emmerdale at 10pm weeknights?
