anyone know if the BBC will black out the World Cup matches from the BBC1 live stream on iPlayer? I guess if they even black out A Question Of Sport the answer is probably "yes".
I'm not sure how the set up is now, but in 2006 the BBC showed the World Cup games Live on the BBC Sport website, so that could be a possibility again, it depends what others matches have been available via iPlayer.
For the first time, viewers will also be able to watch all BBC World Cup matches on BBC iPlayer.
Each game can be watched live via computer, games console or mobile phone, plus the matches will be available to watch again for seven days after broadcast,
meaning fans will never have to miss out on any of the action from South Africa.
Viewers can also download any game they miss, to watch back at a time that suits them.
Since South Africa isn't too far away in terms of time zones, they shouldn't be much difference to the UK, wouldn't surprise me if they kicked off at 5 and 7.30pm BST, as has become traditional in recent years, which will probably get the pubs rubbing their hands (especially since the 2014 world cup in Brazil will be shown mostly in the middle of the night).

The difference is that the World Cup is new and therefore will have 'new media' rights included in the contract. QoS shows sport archive material with either won't have new media rights or the rights will vary and therefore make it too complicated to show
