That's a bit surprising. I thought the BBC liked to take every opportunity to give Neighbours a break every so often. Are they not catching up with Australia too quickly?

Yeah, it's a bit odd. I think we're about eight weeks behind but the BBC are showing (probably for the first time in years) an episode on Bank Holiday Monday. No doubt it'll go off during Wimbledon as normal but you'd think they'd want to do it during awkward World Cup days too.

Sad to hear about the lack of CBBC. I'd have thought the Beeb would have continued with their commitment to children's' programmes in the afternoon, even with widespread availability of digital etc..

First spoils to ITV on the trailer front - the "over the years" montage and "ordinary people sat around a TV" are much better IMO than the Beeb's blockbuster effort.

I'm only speculating here but the Wimbledon transmission times are currently on the BBC Sport website and, although it can be unreliable at times, they list the main live shows as follows
BBC2 12.00pm - 3.20pm
BBC1 1.40pm - 6.00pm
BBC2 5.55pm - 8.30pm

In previous years BBC2 had CBBC at 3.20pm, then joined Wimbledon at 5.35pm. So what will BBC2 do between 5.35 anf 5.55pm - squeeze in Neighbours, perhaps?

That's very interesting - that 5.35 - 6pm slot has always been a bit daft in recent years - because BBC2 shows a match for just 20 minutes and then goes to whatever BBC1 was showing so there didn't seem much point to it. I'm sure quite soon now the first part of the BBC2 coverage will end at 1.50ish - there will be no point in it with Interactive.

It could be Neighbours, but if it was i reckon they would of had the 1.40 showing on BBC1 as well and started Wimbledon at 2.05. So i would say it's something like Malcolm in the Middle or How I Met Your Mother.

Are the BBC going to use the aston system where they can brand their own graphics with a signal generated by the World Cup Providers, they did that last time IIRC!

. . . and a revised GFX package as well, according to our insider. But I think it'll be a BBC News-like evolution rather than revolution!

I guess it will be a full updated package judging from the interactive advert alone, as the two tone strap title is also shown on the wimbledon coverage as well as the world cup stuff, if that's not reading too much into too little information....

Will only effect to me if it cuts into Dr.Who Evil or Very Mad

Didn't want to start a new topic about tonight's match, but does anyone know what caused that green on purple interference we've seen a couple of times during this evening's match? I've seen it before during a snooker match... but what caused it?
