Let's be absolutely clear here - I am not at all absorbed with any 'one viewpoint' towards ITV. I used to think ITV was a fabulous channel a few years ago, but since Shaps and his cronies have come along I've been thoroughly disappointed in their output. Please do point out how many of these 'viewpoints' against ITV I have posted on TV Forum because if I'm not mistaken they have only ever been said, in jest,
once or twice
and I certainly don't think it's turning into any long-running theme. When they have been said, they have been in topics relating to the pure stupidity of the current bosses in threads such as those discussing Saturday Showdown & Citv. In this case, I think it was a valid passing comment as it really wouldn't have surprised me for ITV to go as quick as possible to their adverts and have Brian Dowling on standby with his puzzles. That is ITV of now Andrew - now I don't have the time or put in the effort to try and find out if you love that network as people here accuse you of, but if you really do care that much I should think you'll agree Shaps has turned it into carcrash TV - and I'm quite concerned we may be nearing the end of the biggest commercial broadcaster because of him.
Regards
This is a World Cup thread, your rant is off topic.
Any news on who's showing the third place play off next Saturday ? It still says TBC on the BBC website.
So, the World Cup is over for another four years. There's no point in anyone from England continuing to watch what is
now only a foreign football tournament with foreign teams, in a foreign country. Nor is there much point in the BBC
or ITV broadcasting anymore of it. They might as well start to restore all the TV schedules back to normal.

It's nowt but a useless, pointless, pathetic, over-rated, overpaid, stupid, brainless chav ****!
That's quite the way a lot of people down here view it except I quite enjoyed the Argentina v Mexico game - football as it should be played , not the boring mindless cr ap that was on at 4 pm. By the way , any truth in the news report that the referee came out of the ground to find his car up on bricks with the wheels missing ?

And what do I blame for England's exit . . . ?
What a pathetic small minded attitude to take. There are only 3 matches (+ play off final) left. Games with non-England involvement have still been doing very nicely in the ratings, perhaps those who have been watching the tournament this far will like to see it through to it's conclusion ? And since when has lack of home nation involvement stopped anyone from enjoying a sporting event ? It's not exactly the first time we've been here is it, in any sport.

I don't envy being a Portuguese national in this country. Any abuse they might encounter could well be more than an earbashing.
Simon, I'm not being funny, but this illustrates how your view of the world can be different from that of reality if you never leave your bedroom.
There'll be no trouble at all towards the Portugese. I can not remember a single time when a foreign national has been attacked when England have lost a game abroad. There may be the odd one or two, but my inability to remember any previous examples indicates that it is hardly a trend.
For all its faults, England is not a bad place to live. Yes, it's overtaxed, overpriced, etc (rant rant rant), but it's one of the most tolerant and advanced places to live in the world.
I was wondering if one of our Jerseymen can answer this, though.
Jersey is a place I've always wanted to visit - what's all this stuff with violence after 2004 and 2006? Seems so out of character for the place.
After all, and I accept I might be flamed over this comment, Jersey is not part of the UK or England. (Although your support for England is very welcome by this Englishman).
I get the feeling you're upset...
What ever is the matter?
I don't support England, simple a that.
It's called RIVALRY!!!
I dont support England either so im also pleased about todays result. If it was Great Britain playing then of course id have supported them as that would have included Wales however im not English so ive no reason to support England. I support Wales and whoever is playing England
But why arnt you indifferent to either side? Like if it was Saudi Arabia v Ukraine? Why do you have to go down the hoping England lose route?
Because I do hope they lose. I agree with what Brekkie Boy said in his post, the media make too much of England and we'd have never heard the end of it had they won the World Cup so thats why im pleased they went out.
Also on a personal note, my partner is from England and im sick of hearing him going on about England winning the World Cup blah blah blah so at least I can shut him up now.
As for saying that the uk is mainly made up of England, true but im not from a part of the UK that's England so that irrelevant to my views on this.
You have to remember that the majority of Great Britain is England and therefore you can't expect the media to produce neutral coverage just for what is the minority

Well when the other nations of the UK start qualifying for these world tournaments it might give the media something else to focus on. Until then your views are coming across as nothing but sour grapes.
