Actually the Beeb titles (music apart) remind me of the Euro 2004 titles in a sort of way. Thought they were pretty good - love the new GFX schemes. and I look forward to watching Grandstand on Sunday to see how the full GFX package all fits together.

But the swoosh is no more! It'll be missed.

The studio is excellent IMO - wonderful simplicity. But yes, its a shame it couldn't be 'angled' more in the direction of the Gate.

Anybody care to enlighten me as to what the new BBC Sport font is?

EDIT: . . . Good Lord Costa Rica just scored! Shocked

Not exactly sure... but I reckon the Beep are using Japan Korea's logo when they cut away to slow motions footage.

Have a look... this gold logo fly’s across the screen and IM SURE it’s the old logo not Germanys new one.

What do you all think?

That logo was introduced by FIFA in 2002, and it is the official FIFA World Cup 'Universal' Logo.

It was used by Korea/Japan Logo in 2002, on the basis to introduce it.

The Korea/Japan 2002 logo is also included in this years logo as Revolution has already mentioned

Wasn't really sure what the point of UKTV covering the WC was. But am finding their commentary team (Andy Burton and Ron Atkinson) much easier on the ear than Pearce and Lawrenson, even if their not at the ground, which it sounds like they're not. Didn't much to the build-up on UKTV though (from the little bit I watched).

Yea why is UKTV G2 broadcasting the world cup? It's a bit odd like and is British Eurosport showing it?

UKTV are doing their first widescreen transmission this afternoon with World Cup coverage live on UKTV G2.

Let's hope this paves the way for all new programming to be shown w/s and appropriate versions acquired for w/s shows from the back catalogue.

Know what you mean about the clock/score - very small. I didn't think showing that caused any major argument these days, I thought it was a given? So I don't understand why they're trying to keep it small.

Some caps (during a great game!)...

And whilst we're on the topic of graphics, why is the 'GERMANY 1-0 COSTA RICA' thing about 200 times bigger than the rest of the text? Shocked

I like it. It reminds of the classic SKY SPORTS era.

Pretty poor of them not to show the opening ceremony live. Personally I can't stand opening ceremonies, but if they've got the opening game then they really should show the ceremony.

Have to say I prefer the default graphics, although surey ITV will put their own scorebar in so its on the other side of the screen?

It would look exceptionaly better while watching BBC HD.

the only fault i can find is that the score board in the corner of the screen is to small they should make it slightly bigger as you can hardly read the time.
