Little bird tells me ITV will have a studio on-location in Germany - and from different cities.

A different little bird tells me the BBC will have a studio in a single German location.

Both broadcasters are providing HD coverage of their matches to people on the London HD trial and Telewest HD, with the BBC also broadcasting HD on satellite (so that Sky HD viewers - and others with the correct receivers can watch)

Yes, ITV will be doing their live matches from the grounds. We're talking about about the studio used for Wednesday's preview show (which is probably the studio that will be used for the nightly highlights show).

A couple of questions (and requests for caps):

What's the deal with UKTV G2 - are they anchoring on location, who is presenting/commentating etc?

And also, have ITV got an interactive World Cup service on Sky?

The UKTV team is:

Presenter

Andy Goldstein

Pundits

Steve Claridge
Ron Atkinson

Commentators

Andy Burton
Martin Fisher
John Roeder

Not 100% certain but pretty sure they're not on location for presenting or commentary - there's no sign of them on the HBS charts.

ITV do have an interactive service, but it's only like the CL service - news and competitions etc. No extra feeds that I'm aware of.

In America, matches are being broadcast by both ABC and ESPN. I know this thanks to wikipedia - which has a list of all the broadcasters! It's at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2006_FIFA_World_Cup_broadcasting_rights .

The new BBC Sport graphics look fantastic - loving the new swooshing effect and the glossy sheen that's been added. Can't wait to see them in action, not only for the World Cup, but in other events such as Wimbledon.

Johnofhertford just pipped me to it!

Interestingly, ABC is showing the England v Paraguay match tomorrow, as well as Trinidad & Tobego v Sweden and sunday's Mexico v Iran (interesting one, that!).

The Mexico game will get huge ratings, not for ABC however but rather the spanish language channel Univision who have the secondary language rights for the US market.

Nice titles - loving the gold bars flying out at the end. Not sure about the music but then I've never really been a fan of the classical ones.

And how funny to use the German sung version of "Heroes" as their first VT piece.
