Is "The World" (formerly "BBC Four News" ) transmitted on BBC World at 20:00 GMT (i.e. simultaneously with BBC Four)?????

I'm surprised if it is, because I'd have thought that ALL "front half-hours" (i.e. between X o'clock and half past X) on BBC World would stick to the usual main BBC World news studio/branding etc, for the sake of consistency. And therefore anything that differs from the main BBC World news look, must be shown in a "back half-hour". Confused

Yes. But it's at 21:00 GMT on World during BST.

The World (and previously BBC Four News) IS shown at 2000 UK time (so 2000 GMT or 2100 GMT during British Summer Time). It is shown in a front half hour slot on BBC World.

I suppose that the significantly different on-screen look matches the different editorial content of the show - so makes sense. (The World is significantly different to the other bulletins on BBC World in content)

Given that BBC Four probably pay a significant amount for the bulletin - I suspect they want it to start at the top of an hour.

It would also be impossible for there to be a normal bulletin on BBC World, and "The World" for BBC Four simultaneously, as both productions come from N9 - BBC World's studio space, and use the same gallery.

Although, as today showed, BBC World doesn't necessarily have to show N9's output, and News 24 can be switched straight to air while N9 can be used for other purposes.
