I've just been watching the Wonder Years on TMF, which I do most days. The first episode today has just restarted. We got the commercial break, and then I was surprised to see the opening titles again, stayed with it to see if they'd started the next episode by mistake, but no it's the same episode. The next episode won't be on for another 10 mins.
I never watched the Wonder Years although heard it was good when it was on first time round.
However as good as this programme is am I the only one getting p*ssed off with the cuts in music videos? I remember 18 months ago when TMF used to better than The Hits, they had a wider range of music & proper "special" charts. Now half of it's schedule is cluttered with programmes that have been on C4, E4, etc. and then to add insult to injury they stick a f***ing quiz tv thing on after midnight.

Surely I'm not alone on this?
No, you're not alone, I agree.
When a so-called "music" channel is showing less and less music, what's the point?
If they are gonna insist on showing programmes, rather than just tunes, then at least if the programmes are very very directy about music and/or artists (e.g.
Making The Video
) then fair enough. But stuff like The Wonder Years of The Friday Movie have sod-all to do with what type of channel TMF is allegedly supposed to be!

Well apparently they have "All New Ally McBeal" on tonight, not only is this on the wrong channel (as it's not music related in any way) it is surely false advertising by saying they're "all new" when the series finished ages ago
Turns out it's much cheaper to show programming than it is to show videos. TMF is turning into something of a proto Viacom channel in a way pulling in programming from Paramount Comedy, Nick Jr and MTV. As for other channels, showing videos may seem correct but a channel's got to pull some form of profit be that the method EMAP uses, on-screen text games or indeed having some odd quiz channel which has the most tenuous links to music because videos don't come cheap. Blame it on three things, a daft music industry, the parent company deciding these things and a changing means by which the public consumes what they used to produce.
'Tis the changing world of media, people are more likely to watch a video via Yahoo! Music or YouTube than MTV now so deal with it. The music channel with a sole concern on music videos and the occasional genre specific show is in it's death throes.
I agree with Nini - TMF is now a proto-entertainment as opposed to music-only channel...which on the Freeview platform especially is an augmentation, and not a detraction, to the overall service provided by TMF, The Hits and E4 Music.
