Was out this morning and recorded the ceremony, now watching back, so can anyone else comment on the 'soft' nature of the pictures for the ceremony looks anything but the HD as we're used to.
Just watching the opening ceremony back. I can understand the point of commentators for some parts of an opening ceremony, but to describe everything has made it feel like an annoying form of Audio Description that you can't turn off with unneccary comments, e.g. "Surprise, surprise, the mural's about to come to life", give it 5 seconds and I would see that for myself. Can't we enjoy the visual and audio that the host broadcasters have lovingly crafted?
Only a few minutes in but already agree. Did it air commentary free on the red button?
John Hunt is surely a surprising choice to commentate on the Opening Ceremony. I know the Six Nations is on but they could have flown Andrew Cotter out to do it instead.
Really disappointed by the coverage. Why the hell is Clare Balding in Salford with lovely views of the Manchester skyline? And WHOOOOO is John Hunt? He was awful - whispering John they should call him.

Think there must be something wrong with your hearing if you think John Hunt whispers. As for who he is - an experienced radio and TV commentator. Google exists by the way.
Would you rather the BBC sent getting on for double the number of people to South Korea and spent a vast amount more for them to work through the night local time on programmes where the presenter was linking highlights?

The Daily Mail wins once again.
Doesnt it look awful, why havent they flown them out?
