By the way, where is the studio? Seeing as it still seems to be daylight there.

Salford no doubt.

Salford!

I thought with a windowed studio it might have been somewhere relevent to the games, seems strange to have a view looking out over Salford for games in Korea.

Well its where they presented the Beijing World Athletics from in 2015, its where BBC Sport are based and if there was no view people might complain about a windowless the studio. They'll present from Korea during daylight hours there.

It's a nice apartment, but totally agree James, what does the view of Salford do for the coverage?

Utilising that space but creating a studio with fake windows showing views of Pyeongchang would have made more sense. Similar looking to that of NBC's: http://cdn.studiodaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/oly-winter-lodge-set.jpg

The press release could have said that they were based in Salford, but would they have had to mention it on the TV?

Those windows are real - they've got the corner unit on top of the IBC. You can just about make out the window frames in this photo:

Eurosport have the right-most stand-up position on the roof (the one that's most exposed to the wind) - Netherlands used it this evening, and UK used one of the indoor studios for their presentation. (The rumour is that Brazil's TV Globo originally booked it, but pulled out because it was too cold).

I missed the establishing shot of the outside of their large tent, but here's MBC News's studio opposite PyeongChang Olympic Plaza:

Not often you see news anchors in turtlenecks!

I'm not saying that they're not real, just an idea of what they could recreate.

Do the BBC have a PyeongChang studio or will it be on location?

They've a small one camera studio with a radio cam so they can roam outside if they wish to and conditions allow.

They have a balcony in the Holiday Inn in Alpensia, just across from the IBC - see Gareth E's post from a few pages back for the view.

Not mentioned yet but Matthew Roberts is part of the Euosport presenting team. He starts tomorrow with the snowboard slopestyle.
