It all starts tonight then!!

12am-2am: Curling RR Stage (BBC Red Button, Eurosport 1)
2am-3:55am: Alpine Ski Training (Eurosport 1, Delayed coverage from 1pm-3pm on BBC Red Button)
11am-1:30pm: Ski Jumping (Eurosport 1)
11am-1pm: Curling Mixed Doubles (BBC Red Button)

I don't know if there is any other coverage on the Eurosport pop-up channels since I'm on Sky and won't receive those channels.

Eurosport 4 & 5 have the curling at 12 tonight, with Eurosport 3 having alpine skiing at 1:30 am.

Hopefully, not a piece of "this press release is missing Sky, so it must be on that platform as well" from the Radio Times.

I've just sent a polite enquiry via the Eurosport website asking if Eurosport Olympics 3/4/5 will be on Sky, come the opening ceremony.
If I get something back off them - I'll report back here.

So 99p for the player, announced at the shortest possible notice so those really interested will have already coughed up full price. Just don't get their business model with these rights to be honest - and not sure they do either.

To qualify to join Sky's EPG, Eurosport 3-5 would have had to have been added a week or two ago on to satellite for testing. That's why, in the past, the expanded BBC Red Button service appeared a few weeks beforehand, usually with nice pictures of Cornwall, until they were ready to go live. Sky isn't carrying Eurosport 3-5 in any of the territories it operates in. Likely a fall out from last year's carriage dispute.

Midnight - BT have their wires crossed
Service dogged Eurosport 5 is going out on the channel designated for Eurosport 4.
Meanwhile we have a Globecast caption going out on the channel designated for Eurosport 5.
Eurosport 3 still showing the BT Barker.

The curling on ES5 is the same match as on ES1 but with OBS comms.

Although if Eurosport Olympics 3-5 were hidden from the EPG and run as a red button extension of Eurosport1/2, or do same rules apply?

Thanks for the explanation though. Appears to be a bit of subjective reporting by the Radio Times, then.

To back what you said further, watching training/practice of the Men's downhill this morning, at the end of one break I did notice a brief less than a second end caption flash of a Eurosport promo, as if the ones going out on Sky were different to the other platforms - and the one on Sky did seem to be plugging the Eurosport Player rather too heavily..

Any special pres from the BBC this year? BBC2 managed a surprisingly not awful doctored version of "Tent Explorer" 4 years ago, iirc...

You think the lack of ES3-5 on Sky UK is bad?

Sky Italy until yesterday was airing ads for the Winter Olympics, but today, we find out ES1-2 on Sky are the Russian versions which do not air Olympics, because of a Sky/Discovery dispute... basically Sky Italia can be widely blamed for misleading advertisements, and many are angry at them

Those of us on cable have had to live without Sky Atlantic when half the world's been talking about Game Of Thrones for the last several years, I think Sky customers can cope without Eurosport 3-5.

In Sweden I believe Kanal 9 (which is owned by Discovery and on all pay-TV outlets - including the DTT platform Boxer I think) is taking a lot of the main Winter Olympic events, with Eurosport Sweden taking more minor stuff. Think Kanal 12 is also taking stuff.

Watching the Eurosport 4 I can see, it seems to just be taking OBS feeds (not sure about commentary teams - but suspect world feed) and not putting any Eurosport presentation over the top other than a DOG (so no branded holding slate - just the OBS holding slate and then OBS countdown and titles)

On Virgin, Eurosport 3-5 have appeared on 552-554. They’re HD only, which is still unusual - the only other channel that has no SD counterpart is NHK World.

It would have been nice if Eurosport 1 and 2 had been duplicated on the EPG, just so all 5 channels were grouped together. Of course, you can set your favourites list just to those 5 channels for the duration of the games.
