SVT must have incredibly easy going engineers. The tech teams I've worked with in the past would go mental about exposed laptops plugged in to live power outlets, sitting on an inch of snow! #typicallybritish

There are all sorts of risks that you wouldn't expect.
An iPhone charging in a wet area for example.

To be fair - it wasn't the iPhone charging, it was the iPhone charger... Tragic - but you do wonder about some people. There is a reason we don't have 13A sockets in most bathrooms in the UK...

When the Olympics are over, will Eurosport 3, 4 and 5 be used for any other purpose or will it just go back to the regular 2 channels?

Given there's bearly enough to cover two channels sometimes, and Eurosport 1 doesn't come on air until 07.30 unless there are live events, pretty safe to say that come the end of the Olympic Competitive Sliding Championships 2018, Eurosports 3-5 will be switched off.

They could do with a 3rd channel sometimes, it depends what they have on. A lot of stuff ends up on Eurosport Player only because of clashes. I like the setup they have in Spain and Germany with Eurosport 360 which is essentially six red button channels, so they don't have to invest in presentation etc. for them as they usually cut straight into and out of the feed and carry English commentary if any at all.

The TEMPORARY Eurosport channels are now on air on BTTV with a barker screen, from BTTV, The EPGs for each of these channels are also available and populated.

Believe I also had an email offering the same deal.

Yep - the 99p Eurosport Player promo adverts are popping up in lots of places I browse. iOS app plays nicely with Chromecast, but streams appear to be limited to poorer quality 25p, not the nice smooth 50p of iPlayer...

(The resolution is OK and the compression isn't bad - it's just a pity the motion is compromised compared to their satellite and cable broadcasts, and compared to the BBC's streaming)

I guess people with MotionFlow or similar enabled on their tellies won't notice...

ES Player is fine on AppleTV via direct purchase.

Is it 50p though? Or still limited to 25p?

I haven't been following this too closely but think i'll go for it at 99p just to have a look. Are the web streams 25 or 50p?

It all starts tonight then!!

12am-2am: Curling RR Stage (BBC Red Button, Eurosport 1)
2am-3:55am: Alpine Ski Training (Eurosport 1, Delayed coverage from 1pm-3pm on BBC Red Button)
11am-1:30pm: Ski Jumping (Eurosport 1)
11am-1pm: Curling Mixed Doubles (BBC Red Button)

I don't know if there is any other coverage on the Eurosport pop-up channels since I'm on Sky and won't receive those channels.
