Just in case anyone has missed this and then wake up to no TV, there have been a few announcements today from both the BBC and ITV Granada that there will be engineering work taking place on the Winter Hill transmitter between 0900 and 1700 today. They've said that it will only affect analogue reception - digital terrestrial will be OK. The BBC said that there will be a break between 1300 and 1345 for the One O'Clock News and North West Today and ITV Granada have said that they hope to bring viewers the Lunchtime News.

Well I don't know about anyone else in the North West but my analogue TV has been on all day. I wonder why it hasn't been switched off as they said it would be?

Likewise, analogue for me has been on all day.

Could be something as simple as weather conditions preventing the planned work taking place.

Ah, good point! We've had fairly heavy rain here today so that could well be the reason.

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to overlook the simplest of things!
