I was walking past the Granada studios last night, as one does, and there was an audience advert for a new show being made at YTV.

It's called Win My Salary , presented by Nick Hancock. It will be a "summer replacement for Deal Or No Deal ", filming shall commence in Leeds shortly. It involves contestants guessing people's salaries, and presumably winning the equivalent amount.

Anybody know any more details on this? How long will it be on for exactly?

No idea when it starts, but I would imagine Deal or No Deal would replace it the first week of September, when most new series start.

Isn't this just a pale-faced rip-off of "Payday"?

I think they're just simalir ideas which have simalir premises. I certainly read about Win My Wage before I'd heard of Pay Day.

It will replace Deal or No Deal from Monday 16th July. It will run for four weeks (20 episodes).

Their website sasy the format has been used in over 10 countries so I assume this is the original version of the "salary winning genre".

There will be 20 shows (which was double the original 10 commisioned) running at 45 minutes each. The show will begin Monday 16th July.

It also seems that there will be a contestant and the so-called wage earners. (so the wage-earners won't have a chance of winning)

I looked at the application form and it said

"Any dates you are not availible in June and July"

so filming could still be going on for a few more days.
The logo does look a little American though:

Although there are pound signs.
