Starts today. Eurosport have the rights to the whole tournament in Belgium and a bunch of former Soviet Union countries.
Isn't this the day in the UK that Eurosport shows live coverage in the UK? or did that start at semi final stage? which Eurosport service in Europe showed the tournament live, I swear someone mentioned Belgium but when I checked it wasn't there.

It's an article about the BBC's coverage - remember IMG are working for the BBC (along with lots of other companies).

It was indeed the 1999 revamp that saw the return to the national news at 6.55 for a summary of the headlines, they tried very hard in those days to make it seem like a more integrated hour with the national and regional news together. For eighteen months it was the only bulletin that had regional headlines at the start - and of course the national weather moved to 6.55 as well. I can't remember when all that stopped.
When The One Show started, ten years ago next month, during its four week pilot run it was introduced straight off the back of the regional news, and then it went back to the regional news at 7.25 for a national and regional summary. But every regional bulletin I've ever seen rounds up the national news at the end.
Indeed, I remember setting the tape in 2001 when the Wimbledon men's final was played on the Monday and the One O'Clock News moved to BBC2, purely to see the BBC2 clock.
Of course, less than a year before that, the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympics was inelegantly shunted from BBC1 to BBC2 at one o'clock, just as the flame was about to be lit, and there were loads of complaints. Wouldn't happen now.
Yeah, that's right - I think it was the 1999 rebrand (or certainly within that era) that the 6 was made into a more rounded hour-long show, with Huw Edwards appearing again at the end of the regional programme to recap the national headlines. I loved that when it was introduced.
I think it was when the One Show began that the national recap was dropped, and instead the regions did their own headline recap at the end of the bulletin?

There was a time when these occasions were the only sightings of the BBC2 clock. From like 1998-2001 all you'd get was your one annual sighting of it when Tim Henman got the news shifted!

I remember that well - I was in Year 4 at Primary School and we were doing a project on the Olympics, so got to watch the Opening Ceremony live at school. The telly that we used was usually only ever used to show VHS tapes, so it was hastily plugged into the aerial socket in the school library and manually tuned into BBC1. Then a teacher frantically had to manually tune it into BBC2 when the channel change was announced. You wouldn't get that now, of course. Heady days indeed.

Brrr. I had just GRADUATED.
Indeed, but in those days the news was sacrosanct, like they used to go off the test matches every hour for the news bulletins, regardless of what was happening and even if the news was exactly the same as an hour before.
When people argue about whether cricket should be back on terrestrial, people say "Oh, but on the BBC they used to interrupt it for the news!" - they used to, they wouldn't now. They used to show the second half alone of football matches, dip in and out of Grand Prix (or not show them live at all) and put the Wimbledon Men's Final on BBC2, they don't now.

Although when C4 took over the cricket and once a week put it on Film4 for a couple of hours whilst they showed racing (with cricket between the racing) people conveninently forgot that the BBC used to do exactly the same with cricket often sharing a slot with racing, golf or tennis during the summer.

Something worth mentioning about Eurosport's coverage of the mens final, was that they used Simon Reed and Frew Mcmillan for the live coverage. When they showed highlights later, it was the BBC commentary that was used.
