Do Eurosport have the rights to Wimbledon in any other countries? Would make little sense to apply for this if they don't.

Not from what I seen, it's the one grand slam not covered by Eurosport anywhere(well in Europe) at least

I should have looked here before I asked, it says Eurosport was the broadcaster in Belgium in 2015:
http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/atoz/tv_schedules.html

but it also says it's on RTBF and VRT so I'm not sure how much is actually on Eurosport, although this tweet claims it was exclusive: https://twitter.com/arnaudsimon/status/615862484281491457

There is no deal unless/until OfCom approve it, so we don't know.

That was posted on page one of this thread. It doesn't confirm anything.

In other words, the BBC can't use the term 'live and exclusive' when talking about Wimbledon coverage in the UK.

I noticed ITV4 using the phrase "live and exclusive" twice in the same continuity announcement before yesterday's French Open coverage!

But they can use the Sky Sports F1 phrase "exclusively live" ?

Not for the finals- if Media Guardian are correct. They say Eurosport have those live too and that for the rest of the tournament Eurosport have nightly highlights at a different time to the BBC - so, 9PM?

Knowing Eurosport they'll probably be quite extensive highlights in the evening, repeated at least twice overnight on both channels and again the next morning.

Here's the Media Guardian article: http://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jun/02/eurosport-wimbledon-live-bbc-ofcom

The Ofcom consultation ends on 15 June.
