I wonder if this is in response to numerous complaints about the regional news in England being bumped for Wimbledon?

There have been (numerous) times in the past when the national news has moved to BBC Two at 6pm, with the local news delayed until after the tennis on BBC One. Anything is possible where Murraymania is concerned.

Presumably they want some overlap and maybe some buildup on BBC1 before they switch back, and then a roundup on BBC2 before they go off air at 1900 if indeed that is the plan.

Yes and it wasn't even on the red button (although I would never call any match involving Raonic epic, as he is so dull to watch)
Seems BBC2 left the epic Goffin v Raonic match as Raonic was serving for the match to switch to Murray then.
