Wimbledon 2day reverts back to original format

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-33410692

The BBC say they always planned for the show to evolve Very Happy Rolling Eyes

Looks like we probably wont be seeing this tonight.

They may have to do it on the red button only, as they repeat it on a loop overnight.

Wimbledon Today has done this in the past.

Repeat of Mock The Week at 2130 moved to 2320.

They seem to be keeping Wimbledon 2Day running closer to full length than they did Today at Wimbledon, which sometimes got cut to just 15-20 minutes or so.

Goodness me that's a great studio.

And suddenly everything is right with the world again.

So they always planned to move closer to the action in the second week. It's ok Clare we believe you.

Where have they found that new desk from at short notice?

Just the standard sport OB desk re-lit with a logo slapped on top I think.

More curious where the studio came from.

Where does Wimbledon Sportsday on the news channel come from?

Strange comment from Clare regarding suspension of play - apparently spectators will be happy about it because they might have children or dogs to go home to.

Pretty sure it's on top of Sue Barker's studio which is in the Broadcast Centre, adjacent to the Millenium Building. As the camera points, Centre Court is to the right and No 1 Court is just off to the left, with Henman Hill in the foreground. So by changing the camera angle you can create distinctly different backdrops.

The AELTC grounds are superb so you can create great camera shots from anywhere in the grounds.

Indeed, unless you are a corporate guest on a freebie I would expect most would want to get every last drop out of their Wimbledon day. I know when I went I didn't leave until they were emptying the bins.

Almost as patronising as the FA's tweet today about the England womens football team coming home.

How many studios are at Wimbledon? I see ESPN have (or at least had) two, and I'm guessing other broadcasters are on site too. Is the broadcast centre used for anything else the rest of the year?
