Hmm... It's not really going that well is it?

Location looks like a corporate hospitality venue. No sense of place of being at Wimbledon. On-air too early so you have to curtail matches still in play.

Wasn't a fan of the Commonwealth Games highlights show. Felt like it was trying too hard. This feels like a cheaper version of it. If it were on at 10pm it might make sense. But at 8.30pm? (The Last Leg is still definitely the way to do this kind of show. )

Anyone remember "Wimbledon Garden Party" on BBC Choice?

Yes, it's the Gatsby Club, one of the hospitality venues.

Is it a case that they dropped John Inverdale because he presents The French Open on ITV or was there another reason for it? Thought he was excellent on Today at Wimbledon in the past.

The days of the BBC dropping people for working on the other side are long gone. I suspect it's a lingering over reaction to a comment made a couples of years ago and them forgetting that BBC Sport is more than just Clare Balding.

That said it's been inevitable that Clare would become involved in Wimbledon on screen at some point and it is probably a move with one eye on the future (if Wimbledon still has a future on the BBC) as she'd probably now be the favourite to replace Sue Barker considering John isn't much younger than her - although thanks to Wimbledon 2Day John has a new found popularity.

Prominent role on rival broadcaster

Always In the press for accidentally swearing or insulting people

Wanted to shoe horn national hero Clare Balding into every possible show

Pick any of the above

Briefly at 1305 we were up to London 2012 levels on the number of connected TV streams the BBC were offering. With Wimbledon and F1 a total of 22 streams were available.

Think it's safe to say there is no chance of Prized Apart airing tonight. Looks like they aired the news earlier than billed at 5pm and Murray is at least half an hour away from going on court.

Good they've been sensible and kept Ward on BBC2 too rather than promoting it to BBC1 then probably bumping it once Murray began.

Yep, Prized Apart dropped.

ITV Sport seems to have a new set of graphics in the past everything other than football and the tennis has used the 2006 package. Looks quite nice quite similar to before.

Minor SW19 excitement ...

Conclusion of Monfils - Simon being switched from Number 1 to Centre under the roof and lights, bad light stopped play on outside courts.

Connected Red Button.

Resumption 2120.

New chairs on W2D, and the audience less I'm the background. It's a shame Points of View isn't on at the moment.

It surely must be costing them more doing it at the Gatsby Club rather than just in their regular studio - presumably they've had to hire the space.

I suspect that Wimbledon asked them to move from their usual location on the terrace, as it was an attraction for spectators and was interfering with pedestrian flow. The Gatsby Club closes at around 6.30 anyway, so it's a useful sub location off site to host the programme but within reasonable access for all parties.

Only the consensus is it looks awful on camera.
