With regards to Sky, I suspect it's whether it gets identified as part of a series as to what gets recorded. I dare say BBC 1 Wimbledon, for example, is classed from the point of view of the Sky+ box as one series whereas BBC 2 Wimbledon is seen as another series. A match being moved from BBC Two to BBC One, especially when the main programme is already on air according to the EPG and just gets extended, isn't going to trigger an automatic recording on any platform to my mind.
Sky+ can't recognise series links on different channels. This is demonstrated when programmes such as Marr and Sunday Politics are moved to BBC Two for Sunday morning sporting events. It simply misses the broadcast on Two and sets the next recording on One for the following week.
If you wanted to make sure you captured the whole of Wimbledon, you'd have to set series link on both BBC One and Two, and hope that the box recognised any last minute change to the schedule as a linked programme in the series.
Well, that could be Sky's problem I think, because my You View box managed to capture Stargazing Live's BBC 2 and special BBC 1 broadcasts on Series Link, although that wasn't the result of a schedule change.
Pretty sure my Sky box used to manage fine with the F1 when there'd be a practice session on BBC2, one later on BBC3, qualifying the next day on BBC2 and the race on BBC1. It doesn't cope so well with last minute schedule changes though, but this could be because they've not been linked properly by the broadcaster.
How do modern recording devices cope when a programme is moved to a different channel?
If you schedule a recording for tennis on BBC2 and it gets moved to BBC1, do Sky+ and the Virgin, Free view and Freesat equivalents still record it?

It's possible they might have a 45 min version of Countryfile on standby. I seem to recall once before when BBC One was running about half hour behind they used 45 minute versions of Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow to catch up.
Edit: The schedule on http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/schedules/bbcone currently suggests otherwise though.

Looks like the whole evening is going to be 15 minutes behind, meaning the late news isn't until 10:45.

re 1800-1815
Probably too late to pull the 15min filler on Two. Would have been easier if there wasn't the delayed presentation.
EDIT
,,, and now they'll be ferreting around for a filler on Two, MD final one sided and running away, be over in 10mins at this rate.

On the contrary, good to see them running with the tennis through to 8.15pm by showing some of the wheelchair finals.

I guess because the live match is on a Sunday when fewer people are at work, and because the live final gets pretty good figures they assume that fewer people will need to watch the highlights?

Never really understand why they always schedule the highlights of the mens final so late - and have as long as I can remember. Yes, there is the possibility of overrun but there is pretty much everyday of the tournament.

Useless fact - last time the final day highlights were scheduled before 10pm was 1995 (with the exception of a couple of Monday finishes).
I suppose one reason could be that the BBC Two prime time Sunday schedule isn't really disrupted by Wimbledon. With no play on the middle Sunday and a pre-8pm finish (usually) on thr final day, Two's regular programming can continue as normal. Series' (such as Odyssey and Dragons Den) don't have to be interrupted by, or even scheduled around, two weeks of tennis. So the final day highlights are just slotted in where possible.
