I think they need to perhaps put the cameras a bit higher - its a bit annoying seeing the top of some gentleman's head everytime he stand to applaud a big point.

An interesting piece here actually on the topic of the camera locations - Wimbledon already has them higher than the other slams (hence the score at the top rather than bottom). They also ask the question of whether if they were starting from scratch today would they still film top to bottom or would they film from the side as most sports are.

Presumably BBC2 have been showing Coast.

BBC2 never show Coast, where did you get that idea from? Razz

Wimbledon moved over to BBC Two. Presume they’re betting on this being over by 9 and running an hour late?

Wimbledon already scheduled for BBC2, yet somehow tennis fans are unable to follow a schedule and press "102" on their remotes - and everyone who has PVR recordings set is now messed around, potentially all night. Sorry, but no.

As long as none of the non sports programming doesn’t move channel, only time, PVR recordings should be OK

Within reason....

I'm on Virgin - I've got no issue with the lack of dynamic EPG, I get why and understand that late changes like this cause an issue. You can mitigate with padding etc, but ultimately I go back to why the need to rip the schedule up. I'm yet to find any TV platform which carries BBC1 but not BBC2, and you can't tell me the BBC didn't have contingencies... put a filler on after the end of the sports slot etc etc....

Because it's common sense for an over-running final, and the listings have always stated that subsequent programmes would change it the final went longer than the 4 and a half hours allocated. Schedulers also put a contingency in tonights schedule with a repeat of Antiques Roadshow which can be easily dropped to allow an overrun.

So cheer up - TV is for moments and events like this as much as anything, and they are incredibly rare. Great to have three flagship events live on free to air TV today - just a shame they all fell on a single day. Heck, even Lewis Hamilton has criticised F1 for continuing to schedule the British GP on Wimbledon finals day and it'll be interesting to see how all the ratings break down tomorrow.

Film effect on the Men's Final report on BBC News, for absolutely no reason...

Can just imagine the up-roar, 2 sets all in the 5th, score 7-6, two match points, and up pops Sue Barker, "well I'm sorry but we have to leave it there for now because Japitts says we have to do this. You can follow the conclusion of this match on BBC Two/Red Button. Bye bye for now."

Yeah right.

And on the BBC Two website.

The doubles match wont be finshed by then.
Through I suspect its the cricket as to why Top Gear is delayed - better to start at 20.30 .

Why would the cricket delay Top Gear?

It'll probably be pushed back again to 21:00.

BBC One NI were due to opt out of Antiques Roadshow

Audience demographic overlap, so BBC 2 might wish to delay the start of Top Gear ?
