Yeah, there's only Brazil or France left, and England can't meet either until the final or third place playoff.
EDIT: And now Brazil are gone as well.
Well most of the top tier sides have been knocked out.

I wonder if tomorrow we will see the commentators announcing developments in Sweden v England after people watching on smartphones/listening on radios/getting texts react in the stands and especially on the Hill.

Wasn't there a cricket match in 1996, during an England Euro game, that had to be suspended because the crowd were so distracted following the penalty shoot out on their radios ?
We were at a gig on Tuesday night, about 75% of the audience were doing the usual thing, a videoing the entire concert on their phones (in vertical AR of course
), and consequently saw the whole thing through their
screens (why not eh, when you've paid 70 quid plus for your seat !) The other 25% were watching the football, with the penalty shoot-out coinciding with the final number.
What a time to be alive eh !

Some behind the scenes images and instructions from Sue Barker shown on the UHD feed prior to BBC ONE joining.

The Champions in the Royal Box on the middle Saturday may be a tradition and usually it is worthy of airtime but feels like it should have been skipped today with them losing 4 hours to the football, especially as half the guests will probably bugger off by 3pm anyway. Would make more sense to stick with Del Porto till the football. After all an Argentinian in the third round is a rarity this summer.

People just cannot seem to commit to, and concentrate on one thing at a time nowadays can they.
Our town Carnival kicks off with its parade shortly. Trouble is that the England World Cup game looks set to sink most of the afternoon entertainment later despite the glorious weather as people will likely be pre-occupied with events in Russia on their TV's.
If there are any goals for or against England while there is play at Wimbledon it will be amusing if there are collective joyous or disappointed murmurs going around the courtsides. Actually, no it won't, it will be hugely irritating. If you're watching the tennis, watch it. It's not hard to imagine England scoring a goal in the middle of a 25 shot rally on centre court and crowd noise disrupting it.
I do wonder how history will record this era’s social behaviour, even if it is expressed entirely using emojis!

History will also probably record it as a period of no concept of personal responsibility (ie its somebody else's fault if you get run over by a bus because you didn't look before crossing the road due to you playing Angry Birds on your phone. That and endless Daily Mail type stories about kids who get their hair cut in some ridiculous style and then wonder why they get kicked out of school) and the "pyjama/onesie generation", aka roll out of bed and into the supermarket without bothering to get changed first.
I worry about people who go to expensive places and then proceed to spend more time worrying about their phone is recording than what they're seeing. Defeats the whole point for me really IMO.

. . . that and perhaps other more pres related news: BBC One are also using the 'logo-free box' for cross-channel promotions from Wimbledon. Has the BBC now given up on promoting its brand?
