I don't know if they still do it but a few years back I saw Network Ten coverage of the F1 via a P2P network and they had the studio presenter and guest chatting over pictures of the warm up lap before joining the ITV commentary feed just before the start of the race.

Which sounds like it broke the F1 official broadcaster rules, which was you had to take (and be quiet over) the 'flying F1 logo FOM sting at T-5min to the start of the parade lap.

The Women's Final will also suffer because the third place play off Kicks off at 3pm on the Saturday (On ITV in the UK

And see also the F2 race at Silverstone on Saturday afternoon starting at 3.30. When England are in Quarter final action.
I'm expected a couple of big screens will be diverted to show events in Russia, rather than 5 meters away in Northamptonshire.

Almost half an hour of waffle before showing any live tennis on BBC One this morning , they should start half an hour earlier if they are going to do that.

This is a modern curse of so much broadcasting, especially sport. Equally irritating was the F1 Grand Prix on Channel 4 on Sunday, where the show began at 1pm but the actual race didn't start until about 2.13pm, so well over an hour later. It's just so unnecessary.

The difference with the F1, they still show the race live from the start whereas by the time Barker and Castle and co have finished "prattling" (to use their own word today), they've missed 2 or 3 games of the match.
Isn't that often because they switch to another match when the previous one finishes, or after something that actually pre-empted the tennis coverage finishes (i.e. football)?

I was talking about the start of the coverage at 11:30, so talking while the first matches of the day get underway. Start the programme earlier if you're going to do that.

I've no problem with them switching to a match that's already underway because one on another court has just finished. I've also no problem with them chatting away between matches on Centre Court which they normally do when one ends and they plan on showing the next one on the same channel.

So Kyle Edmund will play a certain Novak Djokovic in the third round on Saturday.

I'd bet my house on that being the third match on Centre on Saturday, following on perfectly from the England match on BBC One. Auntie couldn't have planned it better.

And I don't think anyone will care when the regional news is scheduled, as it's on a Saturday when it's usually full of filler.

Well I can’t see it being that much of a draw

Depending on the result a nice sedate game of tennis probably won’t cut it, people will either be jumping about or will have turned the TV off.

It won’t start at 5:30 it might be almost finished by then.

If it is only just starting, it’ll clash with more World Cup football

I don’t think the wider population has really cottoned on to Kyle Edmund yet

Welp, no British players past the first week then by the looks of it. Konta's already been knocked out.

I guess people can just focus on England in the world cup... until they end up facing an actual top tier team (which they've been lucky to avoid so far) and get thrashed.
