The All England Club tried to get the World Cup Final time changed according to the Telegraph.
Clearly the viewing figures are going to be the lowest ever I suspect not only in the UK but across the world.
The Women's Final will also suffer because the third place play off Kicks off at 3pm on the Saturday (On ITV in the UK through).

I hope it doesn't rain when I'm there on Monday... but then it's forcast to be pushing 30 degrees so some rain might be nice.

This is a modern curse of so much broadcasting, especially sport. Equally irritating was the F1 Grand Prix on Channel 4 on Sunday, where the show began at 1pm but the actual race didn't start until about 2.13pm, so well over an hour later. It's just so unnecessary.
It's also not necesary for you to watch the build up, if you don't want it you could just tune in at say 2:10pm and you wouldn't have to put up with it? While those super fans who enjoy the analysis and build up can start watching at 1pm.
Also how do you expect Channel 4 to make their money back and make money from having these rights, if they don't have anywhere to stick the ads, considering they are good enough to give you the live races commerical free?

Almost
half an hour of waffle before showing any live tennis on BBC One this morning
, they should start half an hour earlier if they are going to do that.

An hour and a bit for the grand prix isn't too bad, although why are they suddenly starting races at odd times?
There was a PPV boxing match I happened to see on Sky a while back where the fight started at 5am and the coverage at midnight

Basically so broadcasters such as the US who don't have the build up can go on air at the top of the hour and be done and dusted in a two hour slot.

The difference with the F1, they still show the race live from the start whereas by the time Barker and Castle and co have finished "prattling" (to use their own word today), they've missed 2 or 3 games of the match.
