So they're going to switch probably midway through the final game of the night as can't see them starting the 4th set. They'd been sensible so far but that is a dumb decision and the most disruptive to the schedules. The Ten being delayed by an extra 15-30 mins makes little difference on a Friday night.

Yeh stupid, the tennis audience would most likely want to see the news after the tennis.
Personally,
I think they ought to have moved the Proms to BBC Four (are repeats of Top of the Pops really that indispensable?)
and just had Wimbledon all night on BBC Two.
A mistake, in my opinion, to delay the Ten o'clock News (now playing out on the news channel with Huw Edwards) on what has been quite a major news day.
But the Proms is the BBC's flagship classical music festival and the first night absolutely deserves its BBC Two slot.
It is unacceptable for this to be moved to BBC Four (nothing to do with the Pops repeat).
Yet the irony is that most of the Proms season is actually shown on BBC4 anyway.
And the First Night is always on BBC Two to draw attention to the remainder of the season and as a major event in its own right. (In my view, there should be more regular concerts on BBC Two throughout the season, but Two has been positioned the 'shop window' of the Proms, showing the First Night, sharing the Last Night with One and also showing a weekly magazine show.)
I maintain that it would have been unacceptable for the Proms to have been punted to BBC Four - as mentioned upthread, there are good technical reasons for this (HD and surround sound access) but also for reasons of prestige. This is a major BBC event and should not be on the 'minority' channel.
BBC Two on 11:00-12:30 for wheelchair finals tomorrow, then original plan for BBC One was to be on at 13:15 with 45 mins build-up for the women's final. I would guess they will bring that forward to 12:45 if play is to start at 13:00 (news at 12:30).
I think this proves that it was the correct decision to move the tennis from One to Two at 22.30, so that the 'Ten' could go out at a reasonable hour on such an important news day.
I fully endorse all the scheduling changes that the BBC made tonight - I think the right decisions were made in all cases.
