Huw and the 10 on the NC now. So, just the regions on One tonight?

Personally, I think they ought to have moved the Proms to BBC Four (are repeats of Top of the Pops really that indispensable?) and just had Wimbledon all night on BBC Two.

A mistake, in my opinion, to delay the Ten o'clock News (now playing out on the news channel with Huw Edwards) on what has been quite a major news day.

I have a hunch that Huw will do the Ten again on BBC One after the tennis. The Proms are an immovable object.

But the Proms is the BBC's flagship classical music festival and the first night absolutely deserves its BBC Two slot. It is unacceptable for this to be moved to BBC Four (nothing to do with the Pops repeat).

I agree that the BBC are between a rock and a hard place tonight, with both the tennis and the Proms requiring live coverage across BBC One and Two, but completely disagree that the Proms should have been moved.

The First Night of the Proms is a key BBC TWO fixture. Viewers on Freeview losing HD in significant areas by dropping it to BBC FOUR would have been a mistake.

Well Claire has said the news will folllow the tennis, so if Huw’s doing the 10 now only on the NC it will be interesting to see what happens on BBC One at the conclusion of the tennis!

Edit: A strap on screen just now says it will be the News At Ten following the tennis... would they just show a recording of what’s on the NC right now?!

It's caused quite a headache. The Proms could have easily gone on Four, with Our Girl and the Ten bumped to Two, then put the regions out after the tennis.

BBC One signposting that the Ten will be on after the tennis, and not signposting to the NC.

You and I have to put up with that for Eurovision...
