Just looking at twitter and more people are complaining the BBC lost their score graphics for 2 games than EastEnders being moved to BBC Two. What did people do prior to the early 1990s when scorebars were added to sports coverage in the UK.
JA
I remember Wimbledon in the 90s when the only on-screen score was when they flashed up the results for that particular game (i.e. 15/30) after each point. I'm sure it was only around 2000 when it got a permanent score card on screen.

EastEnders Facebook page was absolutely adamant they were on BBC One by their post at 7:30 tonight, though that may have been a scheduled post. And predictably complaints there about the tennis on One and the soap on Two.

Why don't the BBC close BBC Four, put that programming back onto BBC Two (because 4 is only doing what 2 used to do) and create in Four's place BBC Sport.

People always bring up the BBC Sport Channel idea, problem is if it's important enough to be moved from BBC Two to BBC One, then it would certainly be important enough to move from a theoretical BBC Sport Channel to BBC One.

It may have worked 20 or 30 years ago and the BBC still have a fair bit of sport but certainly wouldn't have nearly enough to have a BBC Sport channel and Wimbledon, Olympics, FA Cup, World Cup, UEFA European Championship would be moved like VMphil states to BBC One

The nation seems to be forgetting that it's being brought together by moments like this.
Together as one. 'Oneness'.
Together as one. 'Oneness'.
If only there had some presentation for 'Oneness'.

In the 90s the score graphic was only keyed over the court wide shot camera, and disappeared on the cuts to close-ups.
