. standby for Murray scheduling hip-hop. Should be on court imminently.

I fear you are right. It looks like tennis is on BBC One at 19:00 with The One Show moving to BBC Two. Totally pointless change.

Have tp agree at this stage - would be best all round tonight to keep him on BBC2. Next week is a different story but pointless change tonight which surely only annoys everyone.

Quite amusing hearing Sue Barker advise viewers that her own programme had been moved over to BBC Two.

Of course, Yorkshire and the West Midlands were supposed to opting out for regional programmes at 7.30, so at the same time this anouncement was made, Yorkshire stuck up a banner to say that programme will now be on Monday. Which means viewers in this region now get to see A Question of Sport, which they weren't supposed to.

Not quite sure why they decide to do opt-outs during Wimbledon, they presumably know this often happens.

Did West Midlands do the same?

And chances are exactly the same thing will happen on Monday.

Midlands' opt-out was to be a programme on the 100th birthday of Bollywood, to tie in with red-button and Asian Network programming this week. Not sure what they did as I've been watching on HD, and I can't find anything to suggest when it will be shown instead.

The most sensible thing to have done would have been to leave the match on BBC Two, where it had started. This wouldn't have caused problems with regions, and doesn't switching channels cause failed recordings?

At least it's finished in time for Today at Wimbledon and won't upset any EastEnders fans. They'd have probably had to have dropped TaW otherwise; because of the Glastonbury coverage later there's not much room to move things.

It's not just the switching channels that causes problems, it's the fact that the BBC seem to be completely unprepared to switch channels, despite the fact they have been doing so for a number of years. When was the decision to switch BBC One and BBC Two made?

How could they not have it sorted after 7 minutes?
*

Why would they update the EPG to show The One Show as being on for an hour?
*

How can there be two programmes on the same channel at the same time?
*

Worst of all, they retrospectively made this promo just before 18:00 in to a lie.

There were similar problems with the BBC One EPG too.

What a complete and total farce. It wouldn't be so bad if this was Murray playing in the quarter or semi finals, or even
the tournament final itself, against a major opponent, but given this was only a third round match against a relatively
minor opponent, and the fact that other programs were already scheduled on BBC One, including the regional opt-
outs mentioned earlier, this late schedule change was totally pointless and unnecessary.

Yes, this was a particularly poor episode of the 'Murray has to be on BBC One' saga,

Tonight's One Show was reasonably heavily mooted as BBC One's first ever coverage of Glastonbury. That, combined with the regional opts, the fact that this was a relatively straight-forward third round match for Murray (which was evident prior to the 7pm switchover) and the fact that, yes, as far as I can remember, everyone has access to BBC Two - made this one a particularly bad call.

But I'm sure, as ever, the ratings will prove that it worked a treat for Auntie.

The world titles for Wimbledon is pretty poor compared to the bbcs efforts.

To be fair that's usually the same for most international sporting covered by The Beeb.

I don't want to get into too much detail or get into specifics, but I can think of a few reasons why it might have appeared like that for a short while, which all basically come down to the fact that it would have been best to get the current programme sorted out first before dealing with the 7:30 slot.

I'll be on EPG duty on Monday evening and will have my fingers crossed that Murray get things finished nice and early!

Me thinks we are now into 'Robson needs to be on BBC ONE' territory for next week too.
