Just national I believe. It was a "here's the news from where you are" type announcement.

South East Today had their own version, didn't recognise the voice so assume it was maybe someone from Radio Kent. It introduced both presenters, which obviously isn't normally needed. And as noted in a video elsewhere on here, Look North Yorkshire had a custom one too.

Looks like there's definitely going to be Murray related disruption this evening, with the Djokovic match going into a fourth set with the third very closely fought - Murray was due on court at 4pm.

The BBC have also made a "Henman Hill" video feed available online.

Edit: going into a 5th set

The Sky EPG is showing the news on BBC One at six, with tennis coverage moving to BBC Two at 5:50pm. Will be interesting to see what happens - assuming Murray starts around 6 play could potentially continue past 9pm.

Maybe moving to BBC Two for the Murray match wouldn't be such a bad idea tonight.

I bet the news will air as normal to get it out of the way, with Wimbledon moving back to BBC1 at 7pm.

I think they'll want the whole Murray semi-final on BBC One.

I wouldn't read much into what the EPG says at this time.

Chances are that Murray won't be on court by 6pm: even then, little is likely to happen in the first 30 mins.

They would be best getting the regionals out of the way at 6pm on BBC One, with the Six following on BBC Two at maybe 6:20.

They could start Murray's match on BBC Two, but then swap to BBC One and stay with it through the whole evening if necessary.

Leave normal tv schedule alone and put the Murray match on the red button, simples!

No, it's an event of national importance and deserves coverage on the channel where people are most likely to think to view events of national importance. Simples.

Also, the BBC has a duty to deliver the highest possible ratings for Wimbledon, if it wants the best chance of retaining future contacts.

They are going to shorten the bulletins.

@BBCNWT 4m
NWT set to go early on BBC1 tonight for 12 minutes at 1820 - due to the tennis.

They did this a few years ago too iirc Edit I just checked they did the same in 2010

If they going to do that, they should have probably done the local news on BBC One at 6pm and national news on BBC Two at 6:30pm.

Best move all round really. Get both the national/regionals out of the way by 6:30, and extend the regional bulletin after the Ten if necessary.

QoS can be postponed, EastEnders is on BBC Three later anyway, and Sherlock can either be delayed today or postponed until another day. That clears the schedule until 10pm. Laughing

And then cross fingers that the record for the longest semi final doesn't get broken twice in one day!
