An absolute embarrassment just a month out for the Olympics. The Australian Open have had games which haven't begun until after 11pm.

It was a condition of the planning consent given for the roof that there was an 11pm curfew.

Just be grateful there is a roof; Flushing Meadow and Roland Garros don't have such a facility.

With Euro 2012 ending tomorrow night, the second week could have more flexibility over scheduling as well, especially if we have late night marathons such as this!

Wimbledon though is supposed to be tennis in it's purest form. It being under roof is one thing, but half time and then tennis against the clock is quite another.

If snooker finals can go on to 2am in the morning I don't see why other events couldn't. At the end of the day it's two weeks of a year (and just a couple of days per tournament if that) and the tournament has been around longer than anyone living in the area.

It's also affected the commentary - the last 25 minutes have all been about the clock.

The big problem with going on after 11pm will be getting people home after the event. A lot more people can be in the Wimbeldon grounds than the couple of hundred who can fit in the Cruicible.

Looks like the mics stop working after 11pm too... Sound's gone wonky...

Yes I just jumped when the ident announcer was much louder than pretty much everything from the preceding 5 minutes.

Sounds like they've just increased the volume during the start of the news.

Anyone tried phoning the Beeb so they can pass a message on to Red Bee/Pres?

There's got to be someone on duty at the moment, surely?

No Evening Murray on Monday, he's Second on Court One. The possible Evening match features Djokovic, he's last on Centre.

11pm is not a civilised time to play tennis. And anyway, this is the UK. We simply don't have the climate for late night sport. It gets too cold too quickly in the UK.

And you know what? All you do is moan, moan, moan!

They can control the climate inside the court can't they?

Well they didn't encrypt the world feed at all today which is very unusual but it finally gave me a chance to have a look at it after years of trying, here are some stills.

Scoreboard graphic

Scoreboard graphic with picture of court

This is used to switch between court similar to the BBC

Before the Results wrap up, they show a scenic with the out of vision presenter which I think was Mary Rhodes

Results Wrap Up

Notice the lack of BBC branding as expected, its very similar if identical in terms of the graphics, the Wimbledon music is being played out at this point.

End title sequence

Moments from the days play before the endboard titles, out of vision presenter says her farewell to the viewers.

Well I was lucky to watch it, no doubt on Monday it will be blocked again away from the publics eyes.
