What US network is John McEnroe providing commentary for? I've checked NBC East and CBS East, but nothing tennis related is on them?

I've said it before and I'll say it again . . . she should have got her usual big gig at the Olympics. Prime-time presenter, including anchoring the ceremonies and the athletics from the Olympic Stadium. Would have been a nice way to bow out if, as we are led to believe, she'll be scaling down over the next few years.

Totally agree. Can't understand this forums obsession (or rather one or two forumers in particular) with Inverdale. He's best suited to Radio in every way. Just doesn't have a warm tv manner. As for Hazel I'd be delighted if they ever got rid of her.


Oh don't get me wrong . . . I've every respect for Inverdale and Irvine. Personally I'd rather see Irvine doing the athletics than Inverdale, but considering Sue's lengthy career at the BBC, the big gig in 2012 would have been a nice swansong for her.

John McEnroe is commentating for ESPN in the US - they now hold the exclusive live rights for Wimbledon. ABC show delayed highlights.

And just to confirm - the BBC commentary team is Andrew Castle, Boris Becker and Tim Henman.

It's on great occassions like this that you miss John Barrett or Dan Maskell. Both had the ability to convey so much with so few words. Only David Mercer has that ability these days.

When the rain came on, we heard the voice of Sue Thearle, introducing a clip from another game as a filler. Is Sue Thearle also voicing links on BBC1, or is she the voice perhaps of only the English feed for Abu Dhabi Sports?

Roof coming on now, so no play for about 20 mins while they sort out the air conditioning. Crying or Very sad

So with the roof being closed, play won't re-start until around 4.50pm. And its one set all, 1-1 in the third. So we've the best part of two sets to go - and potentially a third set.

Escape to the Country at 5.30pm was obviously going to be moved to BBC Two if necessary, but there's a decent chance we'll still be going on BBC One beyond 6.30pm, so there's the possibility of the news and maybe Countryfile also moving to Two if it's a late finish.
