Well I suppose its easier to do it on BBC TWO on a Saturday, as as far as I know, there are no sub-region opts on Saturdays in the regional news.

Nothing really to write home about presentation wise, although I did notice that the size of the font on the scoreboard graphics was smaller on the third day, than they had been on the first two. Also, the space given for the name of the player was shortened. Strange policy really, they had increased the space for the name, and replaced the set scores with a simple summary. The score now only expands to four panals across, whereas in previous years, the scoreboard could be seven panals long.

Well it looks like Only Fools and Horses will be dropped, no great loss there.
The regional news teams will be loving this, with the broadcast looking like going ahead about 2 hours later than billed!

The English regions can't opt on BBC TWO on digital though.

The Lottery will be on BBC TWO.

BBC1 are wrecking their Saturday night schedule tonight with continued coverage of YAWN YAWN YAWN Wimbledon. I hope the Lottery follows on BBC1 at the billed time of 7.35pm in 10 minutes.

I'd hardly call repeats of The Weakest Link and Only Fools a "schedule".

I think they were put in designed to be dropped - though as they appear most Saturdays, you probably wouldn't come to this conclusion!

The BBC really need more than two hit Saturday night programmes a year!

Is this a first? I thought the Beeb were contractually obliged to show the lottery on BBC 1.

EDIT: I for one am glad that BBC kept this match on BBC1. They have always done it for Tim Henman and it would have looked bad on their part if they hadn't given a Scottish player the same priority coverage. Top marks BBC for not showing pro-English bias on this occasion!

With rain at Wimbledon today, the multi-screen is offering a selection of alternative programming

And talking of the multiscreen, does anyone else thing that a massive opportunity is being missed by BBC Sport during the mens/womens finals?

Instead of using the other 4 screens to show highlights or other 'filler' material, why not ape Sky Sports Active, and offer on Screen 1 the main unilateral feed, on 2 offer a side on view of the court, 3 the high-up back of the stand view, etc?

Am I the only one to have noticed the use of a cue dot (well in fact two white, vertical flashing lines in the top right, a bit like a pause symbol) sometimes during replays and post-match interviews.

Given the BBC don't often do this sort of thing is it some sort of signal to broadcasters taking the international feeds that they're about to cut away from the court to something else?
