It will be in widescreen as soon as the problem has been resolved. If you watched the test transmissions you may have seen the glitchng when switching picture modes.

The only region that is currently broadcasting in widescreen with switching, is UTV, but beware of the in-vision continuity!!

NTL:HOME Broadcast Itv1 & 2 in full widescreen its Great:D
So do ITV Digital! I assume the technical bits of widescreen is different for Sky than the other two systems, hence the delay.
I was watching a bit of old Meridian in Media today (menus with metallic looking Meridian logo and bits! hard to explain...) along with the breakbumper and it must have been around 12.30am as generic invision continuity turned up with a very 'tired' looking guy introducing the film with a 'nighttime' looking (dark, chimneys etc..) background.
Cheers, Asa

I know they do! Except all day today my ntl box has either been showing TUNE, ntl, or a channel number with a black screen!! So I am missing my widescreen LWT , and thats why am using UTV!!

I hope ntl/ITV get the switching problem sorted soon. Having it on SkyDigital is nice, but it would be better if you could take advantage of the 16:9!
Hopefully, if UTV have got it sorted - other regions will follow soon. The other widescreen switching system was awful and causes sound and video to drop about for around 2 seconds when the ratio was changed. Hopefully when 16:9 widescreen returns to the channels, that won't happen.

Why beware? It's only what makes UTV at the weekends 10000000000000000000x better than any other ITV station on the network!!!! Idents are so dull next to some proper continuity!

He he, well to people not used to that man, its quite a shock to see him talkin before programmes!
Thankfully the ntl box is back on now, after a day (!) so I'll have widescreen LWT back
And to people living in former 'nice' regions, he's a breath of fresh air. Everyone in our household is hooked!!!
It was a bit of a shock to me when our in-vision announcers were axed, and some boring ident appeared on-screen instead. Those things should be on before the news only!!!
You have to admit it, humour beats a piece of animation you've seen 100 times before and Julian was on top form tonight heh heh!!
